UFL Looking To Expand To Europe?

Professional football, the American variety, might be returning to countries like Germany, Spain, England, or Italy in the next few years.

United Football League Commissioner Michael Huyghue, whose league currently only has franchises in New York, Orlando, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, is in Europe today.

And, per Huyghue’s Twitter account, expansion to Europe with new UFL franchises could be in the offing in the next few years.

“Currently in Europe,” Huyghue wrote today. “Foreign expansion for UFL very likely for year two or three. Some fantastic soccer stadiums that would work perfectly.”

Of course, the UFL will have to prove that it can succeed on U.S. soil before overseas expansion is feasible.

That said, NFL Europe did become extremely popular for a while with foreign fans, especially in Germany.
