Losman Drawing Interest

The Carolina Panthers are interested in Buffalo Bills unrestricted free agent quarterback J.P. Losman, engaging in preliminary discussions, according to Chris Brown of the Bills’ official Web site. Of course, the Panthers remain dormant as far as signing free agents due to a lack of salary-cap space after placing the franchise tag on defensive end Julius Peppers. Per the report, the Denver Broncos are another franchise that has displayed interest in Losman and may pursue him after the draft if they don’t pick a quarterback. In two starts last season, Losman passed for 584 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions. In five NFL seasons in Buffalo, Losman completed 59.3 percent of his throws for 6,211 yards, 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions for a cumulative 75.6 quarterback rating. After an up-and-down stint as the Bills’ starter, Losman was replaced in the starting lineup by Trent Edwards.
