Bengals: Ochocinco Is a No Go For Trade

While trade rumors continue to swirl around Braylon Edwards and Anquan Boldin, there’s at least one unhappy star wide receiver who will apparently be sticking with his current NFL employer. Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was adamant that Chad Ochocinco will continue to play in Cincinnati and isn’t available via trade, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Again, I don’t know why people continue with this speculation of moving Chad,” Lewis said during a press conference. “I think it’s been told many times and we’ve reiterated now for I don’t know anyone keeping count of this but Chad’s not getting moved. So, we won’t speculate on any of our players.” Recently, Ochocinco griped to former teammate T.J. Houshmandzadeh that he hasn’t been able to talk his way out of Cincinnati. “Chad Johnson called me today,” Houshmandzadeh said last Friday during an NFL Network appearance. “Crying. He wonders why everyone can get traded but him.” Perhaps it’s because Bengals owner Mike Brown won’t allow Ochocinco or any player to overwhelm him through public pressure.
