Report: Larry Johnson To Attend Chiefs Minicamp

Former Pro Bowl running back Larry Johnson has apparently reversed course on his previous stance that he definitely wanted to be traded from the Kansas City Chiefs. Johnson is going to attend the Chiefs’ voluntary minicamp that launches Friday, Johnson’s agent told Bill Williamson of ESPN.com. Johnson, who has also been going to the Chiefs’ offseason workout program, recently lost a grievance to the Chiefs. The Chiefs could release Johnson with much less financial consequence than before the grievance victory. However, Johnson’s representative, Peter Schaffer, said he believes that Johnson is in the Chiefs’ plans. According to NFL.com, Johnson rushed for 874 yards and five touchdowns last season. In six NFL seasons, Johnson has gained 5,638 career yards and scored 55 touchdowns. Due to suspensions and injuries, Johnson has been limited to 20 starts and eight touchdowns over the past two seasons after rushing for 1,789 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2006.
