On the same day that one AFC West team named a new coach, another AFC West team could be closer to getting one. Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs have received permission to interview Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley. The most intriguing sentence from Teicher’s article is the final one. “The Chiefs were planning to announce their new head coach later this week,” Teicher writes. If accurate, this means that Haley or someone else will be getting the job. The only problem is that the other candidates aren’t known -- which means that the Chiefs have successfully conducted one of the most secretive head-coaching searches in NFL history.
