Junior Seau’s NFL career might not be over just yet.
Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe reports that Seau is en route to New England, and the Patriots are considering signing him. Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated reports that Seau has kept himself in tremendous shape and would be ready to go.
Seau, who will turn 40 next month, played all 16 games for the Patriots last season. Although he has been out of football since the Super Bowl, he hasn’t shut the door on returning.
Seau played 13 seasons for the Chargers, three for the Dolphins and two for the Patriots. He’ll be a Hall of Famer just as soon as he’s eligible, but his Hall of Fame eligibility may be close to getting pushed back another year.

Could the average age of the Pats linebackers get any older lol. I know Seau knows the system but I gotta believe there is someone younger and more athletic you could bring that could help some now and contribute in years to come.

Was Seau officially retired, or was he just waiting in the wings in case the Patriots decided they needed him? I wish him the best.

I wonder what Troy Brown is thinking right now. He might be a better CB than what they’ve got.

More experience for Guyton and Mayo to learn from for a month or so. Not a bad move, a few snaps here and there, good locker room presence as well.

Guess they might be worried about Tedy Bruschi’s knee injury. Junior will probably get hurt just like everyone else on the pats…hal of their linebackers are hurt right now and supposedly Piere Woods broke his jaw.

I love it. The team is literally falling apart, plugging in bodies where they have to and, of course, contending for the playoffs.
The odds aren’t in their favor to make it in, but if you have to sign a linebacker off of the street, who better than Junior?

Rays beatdown on the Red Sox earlier in the year, Bucs in better playoff position of the annointed Pats currently. Sign up anyone left at this point in the season, it isn’t going to help. Look in the mirror to last Sunday’s beatdown. It’s over this season boys.
