The Giants got rid of Plaxico Burress, for at least the rest of the season, but the self-inflicted nightclub shooting and ensuing drama will be a huge story for some time in New York and nationally. Just don’t expect coach Tom Coughlin to feed the frenzy.
Coughlin briefly answered a few logistical questions about the aftermath of Burress putting a bullet through his thigh before making it clear that he was done addressing the subject.
“Listen, the state of the union was stated yesterday,” Coughlin told reporters today. “I don’t have anything new to tell you about that stuff.”
Coughlin cut off a follow-up question in mid-sentence.
“I said that I am done talking about that,” Coughlin said.
Of course, fellow Giant club-goers Antonio Pierce and/or Ahmad Bradshaw could have some legal issues as a result of the Burress incident, which would likely lead to discipline from the league. But that isn’t an immediate concern for Coughlin.
“I don’t believe so,” Coughlin said when asked if he had any reason to believe Pierce or Bradshaw won’t play Sunday against the Eagles.

Boy floor boy you’re really trying to stretch this for all its worth. its already been stated Bradshaw was at a different part of the club and had no involvement in the shooting what so ever. So no the NFL cannot discipline him.
Yet still not one story posted here about Steven Smith being held at gunpoint. Its almost as if you have a bias against the Giants, just kidding of course you do!

Pierce is going to “snitch” on Plax in court and will not get suspended or face any legal action. Nothing is going to happen to Bradshaw, Hixon is going to be a star, and the Giants will repeat as Super Bowl Champions in February.
Ray ‘I helped kill 2 people and I’m going to the Hall of Fame’ Lewis was only fined 250k and didnt even miss a game!

yes, a great idea, send a message to all nfl players in nyc who plan to shoot themselves in the leg accidently that jail will await them if they try to shoot at their own legs.

Does anyone remember we are 11-1 and will be winning the divison on sunday after we beat the egirls
Is this ProFootball talk or the Jerry Springer show?
The idiot shot himself did not hurt anyone else and is done
While there are six players who have cheated and got caught taking a masking agent
Those 6 were trying to gain an unfair advantage and could have hurt a real player not a roid freak
Those 6 broke rules that could have changed the outcome of a game or the future of a fellow player

From Newsday:
A Clifton, N.J., police official yesterday confirmed that Giants wide receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint at around 4 a.m. on Nov. 25 near his home, located about 20 minutes west of Giants Stadium…
A league source said Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who was charged Monday with two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in connection with an accidental shooting early Saturday morning at a New York nightclub, was aware of Smith’s robbery.

Clean up the city! Jail all NFL players who accidently shoot themselves! That is the problem with society today.

NEW YORK (CNN) — Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer(aka Client #9) started a new job this week, debuting as online magazine Slate’s newest columnist.
Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer wrote an column criticizing the recent U.S. bailouts.
Spitzer, who resigned in March over a prostitution scandal, joined the magazine as the contributor of a feature on government called “The Best Policy.” The column appears every other week and will primarily address policy solutions to current economic issues.
“The reasons for us are very obvious,” Slate editor David Plotz told CNN. “We’re in the middle of a huge financial economic crisis which we have the very tenets of American capitalism in question. He was intimately involved in understanding how markets function and the role the government should have and shouldn’t have in the markets.”
Spitzer’s inaugural column, published Wednesday, took a critical look at the potential of current bailouts to “perpetuate a fundamentally flawed status quo.”

Wait, I’m curious about something…
Richard Collier, backup O-lineman for the Jaguars, gets shot early in the season. Jaguars get upset, season goes to hell (well, losing three other O-linemen in week one didn’t help).
Plaxico Burris gets shot late in the season. Giants blast Redskins, 23-7 on the road. The next day.
So why the big performance difference…?
Oh, yeah, that’s right: Collier shot by someone else, 14 times, waist-down paralysis, leg amputated, football career over, Jags lose a teammate and a friend. Victim bravely begins long and arduous rehab road back to a “normal” life. In a wheelchair and without a leg.
Plax shot himself. With his own gun. Got a flesh wound. Lied at hospital. Sucked innocent teammate into the event. Suspended four games without pay. Career in New York may be over. Possible time in the hole.
I get it now…the Jaguars feel sorry that they lost their teammate!
I really have to wonder which of these events is the real story…

jaguars lost a whole lot more players than him as they started this season.
giants had already played without plax before when plax was suspended for one game against the 49ers a day moss caught 2 td passes. giants have great depth at receiver and a great running game. pierce would be a bigger loss to the team.
he is on a list because he supposedly was hurt for 4-6 weks . but 7 weeks from last monday is when giants play their first playoff game if they have a bye which eems likely. no one has ever said he is out for the PLAYOFFS!
