To the extent that the Minnesota Vikings were thinking about promoting linebacker Rufus Alexander from the practice squad to the active roster to replace defensive tackle Kevin and/or Pat Williams, it’s too late.
The Colts, per a league source, have signed Alexander from Minnesota’s practice squad.
Alexander was a sixth-round pick of the Vikings in 2007. Per league rule, the Colts will be required to keep him on the active roster for at least three weeks.

A guy that fits their system well. Undersized but quick. Suggests that Gary Brackett may be hurt pretty bad, though.

Way to go Brad Childress. The pending suspension of the Williams’ boys has been looming for what, 3 weeks?
Alot of thought went into this.
What’s the game plan for the Lions? A fan lottery?
“And the two heavy set dock workers from the Runway Bar and Grill in Duluth, Minnesota have won the ‘Defensive Interior Tackles For A Day’ lottery. See you in Detroit guys and bring your hard hats in case the helmets don’t fit.”
Boy, this has been a season to remember. If this game ends with a 12-10 score, I’m throwing in the towel.

Alexander doesn’t play DT, so it doesn’t matter. Any DTs on other teams’ practice quads wil be fair game and a better trade off.

steve2e-
fine, throw in the towel! We don’t want you if you are going to be a bandwagon jumper! So it sucks having the bald “190 pounds of twisted steel and rompin’, stompin’ dynamite” moron, but cheer your team on! Or throw in the towel.
Personally I think we can still make the playoffs. Bears and Packer suck, we are a powerhouse, but it will work out well to have something to rally around. I just hope Pat isn’t 500 pounds by the time he can come back.
Pat, please find another way to keep the weight down this time… How about a jog?
I hope they’ll be ready to destroy any o-line and QB in the first round!

Before the suspension…I predicted the Vikings would go 3-1 in their last four. I think it is still possible:
Week 14: At Lions. We should win even if me and Florio start at DT.
Week 15: At Cards. A team that doesn’t run at all. Tough match-up
Week 16: vs. Falcons. Good running team, suspect defense and rookie QB in the dome.
Week 17: vs. Giants NY will have number one seed wrapped up and likely won’t be playing their starters long.
I think the Vikes can win week 14 and 17. They just need to put together a kickass game in either week 15 OR 16 and they will be the NFC north champs most likely.

This team was gift wrapped at least 3 games I can think of this season, so who cares about this “news”? Even if they make the playoffs, it’s one and done.
I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they lose to the Lions. If AP doesn’t have big days, this team is capable of losing to anybody. They just have that keep the game close mentality and it will fail them come playoff time if they make it, which I doubt they will.

“I like what is happening. They will collapse!”
I like how Bear and Packer fans seem to be under the impression that Pat and Kevin Williams being suspended will somehow mean that the defenses in Chicago and Green Bay are going to magically stop sucking.
They won’t.

I wouldn’t count out the Vikes just yet. If anything, losing the Williamses will make teams play more honestly. No more of that pass-only garbage with an occasional run. I’m confident the linebackers will be able to, you know, do their job and stop RBs coming up the middle.
I don’t think their goose is cooked, obviously. If GB loses even one game, they’re out of the race. Sorry Packfans, but its true. Chiacgo might be a problem, but I can see N.O. and GB tearing apart their secondary, even though they won’t have anything to play for at the time.

Blahman64,
Lol, Vikings fans need to get a life and it’s a frickin game? Yeah. Take some of your own advice.
Oh, and the Vikings get a lot of wins because of AD. The defense is really good, so good that I believe most of our backups would be starters on the other NFC Norths teams (GB and Chicago).
I am going to have an amazing laugh when the Vikings still win the division without the Williams Wall. Then what excuse can Packers and Bears fans use?
