To the extent that the Minnesota Vikings were thinking about promoting linebacker Rufus Alexander from the practice squad to the active roster to replace defensive tackle Kevin and/or Pat Williams, it’s too late.

The Colts, per a league source, have signed Alexander from Minnesota’s practice squad.

Alexander was a sixth-round pick of the Vikings in 2007.  Per league rule, the Colts will be required to keep him on the active roster for at least three weeks.
