Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the suspensions of the StarCaps seven could be finalized by Tuesday.  Apparently, if the four-game suspensions aren’t imposed by Tuesday, they won’t be imposed at all, given the league’s desire to resolve this matter in a manner that allows the suspensions to be served this year.

After this weekend, only four games remain in the 2008 regular season.

And if the appeals are rejected and the suspensions are imposed on Tuesday, swift legal action could follow.

Per Glazer, lawsuits would be filed instantly to block the suspensions, based on the allegation that the NFL knew StarCaps contained a banned diuretic and failed to share this information with the players or the NFL Players Association.

The players currently facing suspension are Saints running back Deuce McAllister, Saints defensive ends Charles Grant and Will Smith, Vikings defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams, Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jackson, and Texans long snapper Bryan Pittman.
