At one point, the Houston Texans feared that quarterback Matt Schaub would miss the rest of the season due to an MCL that was torn when Vikings defensive end Jared Allen threw his body into Schaub’s knee on November 2.
As it turns out, Schaub could be back as soon as Monday, when the Texans host the Jaguars.
Schaub praticed on a limited basis this week, and he’s listed as questionable.
“I feel like I’m getting to the point where I can go out there and play,” Schaub said, per the Houston Chronicle. “We just have to see how it goes in the next couple of days. I feel like I can go out there and do my job.”
Receiver Andre Johnson is amazed. “He told me when he got injured that he’d be back out practicing the week of this game – the Monday night game – and I told him he was crazy,” Johnson said. “But he must have had some miracle rub or something happen.”
If Schaub can’t go, Sage Rosenfels will get his fifth start. So far, he’s 1-3 in Schaub’s absence.
