With the Detroit Lions licking their wounds after a 47-10 loss at home to the Titans, we’re hearing that there’s a feeling among some of the players involved in the game that the Titans called off the dogs very early and that, if they hadn’t, the Titans could have scored 100 or more points.
The disparity might have something to do with the Titans being really good. And it might have something to do with the Lions being really bad. Or both.
We’ll find out more about the Lions next Sunday, when they get a crack at the Vikings in Ford Field.

Not a hundred, maybe about 87 (12 TD’s and a FG)

If Chilly loses this game, he needs to be escorted from teh Dome, to Winter Park, to clean out his office.

“the Titans called off the dogs very early and that, if they hadn’t, the Titans could have scored 100 or more points.”
LOL! Now that would’ve been entertaining! Really though, I doubt they would’ve gotten over 100 points. Maybe between 70-80 points.

hahahaha, they could have put a “century” on the score board, and Patriots haters would come up with a way to pretend that it isnt as bad as NE “running up the score”, hahahahaha

…and what if Tom Brady HADN’T gotten injured this year? Would the Pat’s be undefeated this year and go on to win the Superbowl? Jesus, Florio, what the hell is this?
Bit of a slow newsday? For such a crappy team you sure give the Lions plenty of space on this page. Are they really worth talking about this much?

Anticipate a tighter game w Vikes, if there is any pride left in the team. Also Vikes could overlook them & be overconfident after yesterdays “debacle” to quote Emmitt.

if the patriots beat the lions like this on national and/or there were whispers of 100 points scored by them, the outcry would be over the top about running up the score and disrespect. the double standard is laughable…

If that is the case… why would Fisher of thrown that challenge flag in the 2nd half? That was a Bone-Head move in my opinion…

I suspect that there are a few college teams that could hang a 100 points on Detroit. Hell, I think there are some Arena Football teams could kick Detroit’s ass and they don’t play defense at all. But, then again, neither does Detroit, so it’s a fair match up.

just a note here. the colts beat detroit 41-9 on thanksgiving day 2004. manning had six touchdown passes (three to harrison, three to stokley)and didn’t play in the fourth quarter. talk about a team that could have scored 100.

ppolimeno, what the hell are you babbling about? The Titans scored 12 in the second half. You and your ilk really need to get over yourselves. And it would be over the top if anyone really sniffed 100 points with their starters, even on the Lions in the third quarter.

Fing Fischer should have challenged more plays and maybe he could have shown everyone what a great coach he is. What no knee shots at opposing players.

Its not inconceivable that the Lions only win would come against the Vikings… When the Panthers went 1-15 they were their only win…

Detroit gave up, so why the hell not?
Screw the Pats, they would have TRIED to do it…Belechick is a miserable prick who couldn’t bear staying on the field one second to congratulate the Giants.
Classless piece of human debris. Loved his smirk after running up the score, good stuff.

Twice today already Florio? What a joy! You have twice implied the Vikings will lose next Sunday. Let’s see if he can go for three…
Now moving back to subject. No way the Titans could have put up 100. Maybe 61, but a 100? No way. It’s not like the Lions were letting a touchdown in every other play. Detroit has a great chance at 0-16. However, Detroit should get a win. It will not be again Minnesota. If Minnesota wins this Sunday, no way we will let our momentum slipped. We will beat Detroit.

@ Tim,
I was coming here to post the same thing. The Lions will avoid a winless season by beating us next week. It’s just going to be one of those games.

I’m with the camp that says no way they could have gotten to 100.
If they ran the 2:00 offense for most of the game, then easily 100.
The Lions couldn’t hold Texas Tech to 30 points.

I am a Bears fan and I have not been able to whip up any bad feelings for the Lions in years.
I hate the Vikings.
I REALLY hate the Packers.
But the Lions…….. I actually feel sorry for their fans at this point.
How does one team manage to stay bad for this long?

Fisher was just getting some challenge practice in case he had to use a challenge in a real game.
I think the titans could have hit 70. 70-10.
Easily each 2nd half fg could have been a td (63).

Seven TD’s and an FG. They’d have to score about every 8 1/2 minutes. Could be done. Interesting idea.
