As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to host the Seattle Seahawks, coach Wade Phillips calls it “the most important game of the year,” per Albert Breer of Sporting News Today.
Most important game of the year? Against a 2-9 team? Really?
Actually, Wade has a point. Because if the ‘Boys blow this one, the chances of navigating a brutal final fourth of the season (at Steelers, Giants, Ravens, at Eagles) with enough wins to make the playoffs will diminish significantly.
And if the Cowboys can’t beat the lowly ‘Hawks in the last Thanksgiving Day game at Texas Stadium, then Dallas doesn’t deserve a spot in the postseason.

If the ‘boys don’t win today at home, I’d count Wade’s days in Big “D” numbered…Jerry ’s not a real patient man…

With a tough schedule ahead, the Cowboys can’t afford to lose a “gimmie game”.

As a Seahawks fan this game is all that matters to me for the rest of the season, win this one and I will be happy.

I think Wade is motivating his players to not look past this 2-9 team. The next 4 games are much more important in reality.

Jersey73 - there are no “gimme games”. Any team, can lose on “any given sunday”. Not saying that Da Boys shouldn’t win, but you just can’t expect to show up and go home with a victory (like Da Boys did against St Louis & Arizona).

“Wade is still a fat moron”
I guess Jerry saw the (limited) success that that original “fat moron”, Andy Reid, had in Philly and thought he’d give it a chance.
You’re right, though. There not enough room in this division for Wade so long as Andy “the awesome coach and father” is around.
Zona 31, Philly 14. Have a nice rebuilding decade.

Here’s to Marion Barber slaughtering the Shehawks today!!
And if he isn’t leading the massacre, it’ll be Romo hitting T.O. and Witten. Bottom line, I’d like to see Holmgren the Hutt royally embarrassed on national TV (again).

well dallas’s M.O. is to paste the bad teams then lose to the really good teams.
i think i wrote this before, but dallas should be 8-4 around 1930 tonite.
they will lose up in pittsburgh. 8-5.
they cant beat the giants anywhere. 8-6.
baltimore will need a win to go to the playoffs too. 8-7.
going to philly last game of the year? philly will get up for that. 8-8.
odds are pretty good imho that someone gets to romo also. and dallas has proved that as usual, when their star player goes down… down the toilet.

If the last few years are any indication the Seahawks will win, for some reason the Cowboys always seam to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when playing the Seahawks, the Seahawks are their achilles tendon.

Actually the next game Dallas plays from here on out is going to be the ‘most important game of the year’.
Dallas is already in the playoffs for all practical purposes. Every game isa playoff game.

rlr79,
HUH? Dallas leads the series 6-4 and won in Seattle 43-39. Just wishful thinking on your part.
