If the Jags are getting ready to punt on their season of high expectations, they’ll need to do it with a new punter.
Adam Podlesh has been shipped to injured reserve, due to a knee injury he suffered in the team’s loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Podlesh has been replaced by the well-traveled Steve Weatheford.
In other moves, the Jags activated tight end George Wrightster and defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey from the physcially unable to perform list.
The Jags also waived cornerback Omare Lowe, who appeared in five games this season.
By our count, the Jaguars currently have one vacant roster spot; they created two vacancies on Monday by cutting defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and guard Milford Brown.
UPDATE: Weatherford, we’re told, got a tire-kicking in Pittsburgh on Monday. The Steelers opted instead to bring back Mitch Berger, who replaces Paul Ernster.

They need to keep cutting CBs until Drayton Florence is gone. That guy is a bigger waste of $$$ than R. Jay Soward.

Is Drayton an upgrade over William James or the disaster that was Terry Cousin’s last year here? Yes. Is he as good as advertised, No.
