The Vikings, whose first five wins came by an average of 4.6 points, finally blew out an opponent.
Coach Brad Childress is being praised for punishing RB Adrian Peterson after he was tardy to a Saturday team meeting.
Childress called QB Gus Frerotte’s pain “self-inflicted” because he didn’t throw the ball away after leaving the pocket.
The Vikings plan to use RB Chester Taylor more even if Adrian Peterson shows up to all the meetings on time.
Jaguars WR Troy Williamson didn’t get to beat up Brad Childress or even dress out due to a sore groin.
Some of the words Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio used to describe his team’s performance: “ridiculous,” “mistake-filled,” “sloppy,” “embarrassing poor” and “totally unacceptable.”
The Jaguars had five turnovers, including Brad Meester’s traditional snap in a shotgun formation on the first play from scrimmage.
After that fumble was returned for a touchdown, Brian Witherspoon fumbled on the ensuing kickoff return, setting the tone for a terrible day by the special teams.
RBs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew combined for only 24 rushing yards.
Jones-Drew’s 113 receiving yards were about the only highlight for Jacksonville.

Did the Viking players laugh at the Jags players? That would have been fitting.

The Jaguars just gave the game away and were unmotivated.

Childress finally made a true head coaching decision when he called for the safety after the time out.

Actually the refs handed this one to the Vikes, just like the Cheeser game. The Vikings never beat the hell out of the other team (ie, the pack game where both Cheeser D and O lines looked like high school lines). Yep, feels great to skate by on luck, biased officiating and unmotivated opponents.

As a Vikings fan, it’s fun to be on the recieving end of a mistake-filled game. The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. Skol!

Funny stuff PurpleGuy, I meant to give you a 5 rating… my bad.
Interesting that Florio managed to put a negative media spin on such a solid victory… clearly his Viking hate knows no bounds. Oh well, nobody ever claimed the media to be unbiased, I guess it’s kind of sad that we seem to have higher expectations of mere bloggers.

2008 Jaguars. Most underachieving team in the league this year, by far.

I think chili called for the safety because he had money on the over and his “kick ass offense” wasn’t getting the job done. Just goes to show that he might be a worse gambler than he is head coach.

steelers-shaun… total hater. sorry to burst your bubble, but the last 2 home games are vs Green Bay and Indy. There will be no blackouts this year despite the horrible product on the field.

Chilly called for the safety because why punt and give the jags the ball at mid-field or worse?
Say what you want about this win or any other win the Vikings have, we keep on winning these games. 3 more games and Childress saves his job…Chicago, Detroit, Arizona, Atlanta, NY Giants…I see the Vikings going undefeated the rest of the season. The Bears don’t scare me and we all saw the egg the Packers laid last night.

Funny thing about Troy (crab claws) Williamson’s wanting to fight Childo is most Viking fans would probably put money on Childo. I mean Troy is younger, but Childo is so damn bitchy and petty, plus he’s gotta have better hand eye coordination than Troy. There’s a good chance it would be a fight with no blows landed, maybe some scratching or kicking. In that case you’ve got to go with Brad (the ch? molester/lawyer) Childress.
Troy should save the humiliation for trying to catch footballs. No one wants to see him get beat up by the “suspicious” mall janitor. Actually since we won’t get any money back maybe it would be justice.
