Things are getting heated in Miami.
After Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski hit a 30-yard field goal to put New England up 41-28 late in the fourth quarter, a brawl broke out on the field.
At the center of the fight were Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light and Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder. It wasn’t immediately clear how the fight started, but at one point Crowder’s helmet was off and Light could be seen pulling Crowder’s hair.
Both Light and Crowder were ejected from the game. Both will certainly be fined as well.
All the Patriots-Dolphins action can be followed here.

A Patriot pulling hair in a “fight”. Yep, that sums up the Dirty Dynasty.

Apparently Crowder is going to be fined for having his helmet torn off, his hair pulled, and then being punched in the back of the head?

If there is any justice then Light will be lighter in the wallet than Crowder.

Light resorted to hair pulling because he was not able to view film this week on how Crowder fights.

Crowder getting ejected was total BS. He got his helmet ripped off so he pushed Matt Light back. Then Matt Light was pulling his hair and punching him in the back of the head right in front of an official. Crowder ran away to show he did nothing wrong and was still ejected. He was even laughing…probably because a guy of Light’s stature would result to pulling hair.
GO FINS!
(Pats are still cheaters.)

It looked like Crowder got in a late hit and a couple shoves, and Light pushed his head down, his helmet came off, and yeah, he grabbed a couple of his ladylocks and started smacking him.
It will be interesting to see how this one plays out, since it appears Crowder instigated it, but ended up getting the worst of it.
What was funny was Light walking off the field without his helmet, then it looked like someone hucked something, and it cut away, and when they cut back he had his helmet back on.

Hair-pulling in an NFL brawl? Really? Did Light mace him and hit him in the head with his purse, too?

By Crowder’s reaction it was clear he was trying to instigate a fight by pushing after the play was over. He was smiling right up to the point that he got to the sideline and had a coach with some intelligence read him the riot act.

that was total BS. crowder didn’t instigate anything. there was pushing back and forth DURING the play like there is on any field goal try (light was blocking, crowder was trying to get to the kicker). clearly light didn’t like how crowder tried to get by, so light ripped crowder’s helmet off. crowder just shoved back, but light is the one who grabbed his hair and started throwing serious punches. crowder didn’t throw a single punch, and ran off to show he didn’t do anything.
crowder’s ejection was complete bullcrap.
then, as if the Patriots weren’t classless enough (is it possible for them to be any less classy?), inside of two mintues the patriots, instead of kneeling the ball, continued to try to score AGAIN, after already being up over two scores. how unsportsmanlike is that?
if that wasn’t even enough, when the fins get the ball back with UNDER a minute to play after the kickoff, the patriots are still calling timeouts to rub it in a little more.
the patriots, seriously, are the most classless organization of all football. congrats to them on the win, but the way they went about it at the end was completely and utterly in poor taste.

I hate both teams, but last time I checked, if you’re gonna keep your hair long, it’s considered part of your uniform, so you’re allowed to pull it without facing a 15 yd penalty. Very bush league to do so, but it’s somewhat legal.

Typical Matt Light. Typical NE Patriots. What kind of man fights with a helmetless opponent with his own helmet on and pulls hair. Dirty Dynasty is right… New England is going downhill, getting old and Brady will never be the same… Miami is on the RISE! New England is CLASSLESS!

Hey Texas - spot on. And they wonder why peopled laughed at their ‘perfect’ season ending in defeat to the Giants. No class in that team.
Crowder didn’t push, pull, swing, etc. and stepped back as soon as the tough guy let go of his hair. Presumably he got ejected for repeatedly headbutting Lights fist!

Right. That makes sense and is perfectly logical, considering the Patriots were the ones getting frustrated and embarrassed, why wouldn’t that frustration boil over on Matt Light’s part, instead of the on the part of the calm, cool, collected Dolphins who had just amassed like 8 penalties following a back breaking INT?

Honestly, it looked to me like Crowder tried to dive at Light’s knees during the kick. NFL players don’t rip off someone’s helmet and start punching them without reason.
Also, give me a break on the “running up the score” crap. Every team does it.

Patriots AND Officials win again! NFL Officials get caught with their hands in the cheering cookie jar last week when Jets beat “The Cheaters” so they have to balance things out by helping “The Cheaters” win against the Fins. They were holding, blocking behind the back, late hits, forearms and probably more that was not shown and NEVER called for any of them! NFL Get Fair Again! Let the teams play and call the games FAIRLY! This is NOT the only game that has gone this way this year. If you don’t believe it then simply start paying attention!

SteveEJ, REALLY? You REALLY think the officiating was bad? Did you actually watch the game?
If you did, maybe you could explain how on Joey Porter’s sack, he was already turning the corner in the backfield before a single Patriot had moved, yet wasn’t flagged for offside?

@ texasPHINSfan:
This is the NFL not some pop warner league… If the Dolphins don’t like being scored on then they should do something about it. The offense is out there to score points not to kneel the ball. Isn’t that what the Dolphins did back in week 3?

Gotta call BS on that, primetime36. Cowboys kneeled it out in the red zone with 1:48 left in the game against San Francisco today.
If you’re going to say “everybody does it”, maybe wait for a day when a team didn’t just do the exact opposite under an hour ago.

BuckFutter you were right in an earlier post. You do talk a lot of crap.
Porter timed the snap count perfectly. If you wanted something to truly bitch about it was that ticky tacky late hit outta bounds. The bad calls went both ways and that rookie Ref sure acted like one…couldn’t even count to 12 right.
And don’t defend Light either. That was him all the way.
