The New England Patriots have announced several roster moves on the eve of a critical showdown with the Dolphins in Miami.
For starters, linebacker Eric Alexander has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The fifth-year veteran had appeared in only one game this year, after making appearances in 12 games last season.
To replace Alexander, the Pats signed rookie linebacker Vince Redd from the practice squad to the active roster.
Also, New England downgraded running back LaMont Jordan and cornerback Mike Richardson to “out” for Sunday’s game.
Jordan, signed as a free agent after being cut by the Raiders, has appeared in only four games. He has carried the ball 24 times for 106 yards, and no touchdowns.

Wow - do the Patriots have ANY starters left? Looks like the Junior Varsity has a chance to show they’re as good if not better than the rest of the Varsity in the NFL. I guess that’s one way of achieving parity. Roger Goodell must be very happy.

I think that moves about five players from the Practice Squad to the regular team. Don’t sprain your shoulders patting yourselves on the back Jets. Playing the Pats late in the season should be step one in your game plan.

Redd is 6-6, 265 and ran a 4.58 forty at the Combine - a slightly lighter, faster version of Seymour who may be very useful in some 4-3 sets. With Adalius Thomas also out, the Pats absolutely needed some OLB help available for the next few games.
Also, it’s noteworthy that it was Alexander who went on IR and NOT Thomas.

Yeah, I think it’s a tossup with the loser having a vastly reduced chance of catching a wildcard berth.
As to Brigitte Nielsen - have you seen her lately? She may be a very nice person, but I think she’s gone past MILF territory now.

No team in the league could endure what the Patriots have had to deal with and still be ultra-competitive. Losing the league MVP was the start of what has turned out to be an incredible amount of injuries. No excuses from them….they line up and play, and play well. Do yourself a favor, you and all the other chest-pounders enjoying the Patriots’ misfortunes, savor it. The Patriots’ regression from the top of the hill will be short-lived. The Dolphins have been lucky injury-wise. Let’s see what happens today.
