We need to start this one off by making clear that this item is purely speculative.  (And if you don’t like that kind of stuff, just scroll, baby, scroll.)

It’s now known that Jets quarterback Erik Ainge has been suspended four games for violating the league’s policy regarding steroids and related substances, but it’s unknown what Ainge ingested to trigger the automatic four-game penalty.

So what if it was StarCaps?

Ainge was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury only a few days after word first broke of the StarCaps suspensions.  If Ainge had tested positive for Bumetanide due to taking StarCaps, the Jets would have known about it at the time he landed on injured reserve.

Though the reason for the suspension isn’t relevant to Ainge, the fact that his suspension was announced on Friday could mean that he appealed the suspension, and that he lost.

And that would be very bad news for the other StarCappers.  Unless Ainge’s representatives completely bungled the hearing, it would be highly unlikely for the league to suspend Ainge but not suspend the other guys who took StarCaps.
