Many readers have raised with us the choice of attire by Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens in an interview that partially aired during the Sprint Halftime Show, as part of NFL Network’s coverage of the Bengals-Steelers game.
During the interview, Owens is wearing a green shirt with a large eagle on it. (Meanwhile, interviewer Deion Sanders of NFL Network apparently raided Bill Cowher’s closest for a Cliff Huxtable sweater.)
Green. Eagles. Hmmm.
More importantly than his attire, Owens spent some time complaining about his current role in the offense. “I don’t like it,” he said.
“When I came here, I came here with the idea and the notion that we had a chance to win a championship. Me coming to the city of Dallas, I want to bring a sixth Super Bowl championship to the city of Dallas. And for me to have the numbers that I have, not really being involved, it is discouraging. It is frustrating.”
Asked whether the numbers or the championship are more important to him (be careful, Deion — you’re venturing dangerously close to engaging in actual journalism), Owens said, “The championship. But at the same time you can’t obtain that championship if I’m not involved in the offense.”
The rest of the interview will air on NFLN’s Gameday Morning this Sunday. For now, here’s the clip from Thursday night.

It was an American Eagle t-shirt, no one cares, I doubt he’s playing mind games.
Deion is sporting the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air circa 1991 special.

Deion interviews Ocho last week and both admitted that Deion has been calling Ocho that is how the “don’t do what I did” comment came out. Then Ocho gets suspended for showing up the coaching staff a week later.
Wonder if that will happen with Owens? Nah, not with the Enabler as the owner. However, I bet Garrett gets some plays handed to him from Owens of from the Enabler who got them from the Owens.
Owens did so well getting the ball in the one Super Bowl he was in that his team won right?

Owens is an idiot. “The championship. But at the same time you can’t obtain that championship if I’m not involved in the offense.”
Newsflash, TO. EVERY NFL champion in history has obtained their championship without YOU involved in their offense. Every single one.

This is a huge deal. He was sending a message to the organization. This is a slap in the face to the organization and he should be cut (right, Florio). He might as well have been wearing an I miss Donovan hat. I am joking.
In all seriousness, this is a much worse offense then not knowing the OT rules. Not the shirt but to publicly bad mouth your gameplan on national TV. That being said, I wish Donovan would finally come out and rip the OC, coach, GM, and the person who makes the gameplan - REID!

Hey,
Eagles fan here. Can someone tell me whether or not T.O. knew to O.T. rule regarding ties? The answer could help me sort out that whole T.O. versus Donovan mess from a few years back so that I may finally take a side.

‘not involved in the offense’ .
Lol, that’s rich. TO has more passes thrown his way than any other receiver in Dallas. He’s more ‘involved’ than anyone else. He needs to learn to beat press coverage.
Without Romo none of the receivers were ‘involved’ because Johnson couldn’t throw the ball 5 yds.

Paraphrased: “If I get my stats, we will win a championship.”
–Terrell Owens
Now, a quote from my all-time favorite player:
“A lot of guys have it backwards. They want to do well and hope their team does well. I believed that if the team did well, the individual things would take care of themselves.”
