After scoring a touchdown Sunday against the Jaguars, Titans receiver Brandon Jones celebrated by going to his knees, putting his hands behind his head and then walking to the sideline with his hands behind his back. He said he called his celebration “take me to jail.”

Unsurprisingly, the NFL fined Jones $15,000. Jones doesn’t think that’s fair, and he says he will appeal.

I’ll definitely appeal it. I don’t feel it is right,” Jones said, per the Tennessean. “The only thing I did was go to two knees. They fined me like I pulled a gun out of my pocket for real and I don’t really think it is fair. It doesn’t make sense. I might as well have pulled somebody out of the stands or something for that.”

Actually, I’m guessing that if Jones had pulled a gun on the field, he would have gotten a little bit more than a $15,000 fine.

But while Jones doesn’t like the fine, he does say he has learned his lesson, both from the fine and the 15-yard penalty he got, and won’t do it again.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it and it will never happen again,” Jones said. “I thought it was something funny … but I guess it wasn’t.”
