Giants receiver Plaxico Burress missed practice on Thursday. Unlike Jets coach Eric Mangini, who would have attributed the absence to a “leg” injury, Giants coach Tom Coughlin was a bit more descriptive.
“Hamstring,” Coughlin said.
As to Plax’s prognosis? “We will see.”
As to when it occurred? “Just now. Overnight and into today.”
That’s all Coughlin said about the matter.
Burress wasn’t listed on the Wednesday injury report, and Coughlin’s comments suggest that the injury wasn’t the result of the prior day’s practice session.
If Burress suffered the injury elsewhere, it wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened to him. In the days leading up to Super Bowl XLII, Burress sprained an MCL in the shower.
The Giants return to Arizona, site of their Super Bowl triumph, to play the Cardinals on Sunday.

So Florio, I read your article on the cards in yahoo sports. As usual, you are cards bashing in it. Harping on anything possible to diminish any success they have had. It DOES NOT come down to the next two games for the cards. It comes down to them getting into the playoffs and winning some post season games. I know Florio that you WISH it could be the next two games that count…but that isn’t so. Not all teams (like your hunny buns the cowboys) are fortunate enough to get the benefit of the doubt all the time. Cardinal fans DO NOT need you to add to the bashing believe me.

Good, maybe Domenic Hixon can get in the game and show how much of a play maker he can be. His style is very Marvin Harrison like, minus the exotic swedish hand gun and alligator arms as-of-late.

Westclaims, what part of this article is talking about the Cardinals? Get over it, every team, that is a perpetual loser, is going to get “bashed” until they win something. At present, they havent won anything, and will continue to be the butt of jokes, etc.
To the article at hand. I think Plax has an alcohol problem. Think about it, he is constantly getting fined for being late to meeting, being “groggy” in meetings, “slipped in the tub and injured his knee”, seemingly injured his hamstring between yesterdays practice, and this mornings meetings, etc. Sounds like a dude that goes home, and starts doing 12 ounce curls all afternoon/evening. It explains everything. Alcohol explains his tardiness, and grogginess regarding meetings, it explains these strange injuries, any thoughts Florio/PFT Planet?

This game has the same feel as the Cleveland game. The Giants are rolling, they’re confident, and everyone is writing off the competition. I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve got a nasty feeling that loss number two for the Giants comes this Sunday. Plax and Jacobs being banged up is probably the final straw.

great job of making your point then saying it again….(sarcasm)
Florio at the start of the NFL season stated the Cardinals would finish last in the division…stated the Cardinals have ‘NO SHOT.’ He stated Seattle would win the division with the Rams and 9ers challenging.
Florio’s good at passing on the news, but is pathetic at choosing/predicting.

As a Giants fan I have already penciled this one in the loss column. I think that the Giants will play sloppy. The Cards are going to be fired up for this one and overwhelm the Giants. The G-men will not finish 15-1. They will lose again and the Cards are one of those games along with a divisional game.

I hope the Cards coaches are reading this. Yeah, don’t double team Plax, he’s hurt. Matter of fact just put your best CB on Toomer.

You’re literally cutting and pasting stories from ESPN. Can’t find anything to “report” from your “sources”?

Plax was a lazy ass in the Burgh & when not resigned- a collective sigh from most Steeler fans. Seems he’s still a lazy ass that shucks & jives to keep away from the dreaded “STRONG WORK ETHIC”! Best of luck w/him G’fans
