And as the child turns to walk away, Polamalu will cheap shot him and break his leg.

I saw that hit on Holmes this morning on Sportscenter. It was no dirtier than Hines Ward’s on Keith Rivers. In other words, totally clean.

another great bashing of the bungals. and you will not hear any complaints coming from this steeler fan about crocker’s hit on holmes. legit all the way imo. great football weather. only downer of the night was the atrocious booting of the ball by ernster. i won’t even insult punters by calling what he did last night punting. berger with 2 bad hamstrings did better. hell, there has to be a few former WPIAL class aaaa high school punters around the burgh that could be signed off the street better than this gimp.
great win. go steelers.

I think it’s kind of funny that anyone in Shittsburgh has a problem with the Holmes hit but never seems to see anything wrong with any of the cheap shots that Ward has taken over the years.

The only officiating he should be bitching about is the lack of holding penalties against James Harrison. I counted 4.

theonly1,
I think it’s kind of funny that it seems everyone outside of Pittsburgh has a problem with a little wide receiver actually being a real football player and blocking for his team mates. All Ward does is play hard-nosed football. He blocks defenders that are attempting to tackle the ball carrier. So what if he blocks them hard? Is he supposed to just tap him on the shoulder? What would you like him to do? The defender (like last night on Holmes) waits for that perfect shot on an offensive player and people cheer and love them for it. I don’t get why it’s so wrong for a receiver to actually hit a defender back legally. Hines plays between the whistles and plays hard, within the rules. He doesn’t take people’s knees out, or blatantly blindside someone when they aren’t even involved in the play. What’s wrong with not taking plays off and actually helping your team by delivering crushing blows to defenders that will crush you every chance they get? Can you explain that to me?
And I don’t care what anyone says about Ward, I don’t think anyone can say they wouldn’t want him on their team.

Interesting references to complaints about the legit hit on Holmes.
–There are no complaints. Steeler haters resort to making crap up and inferring Polamalu plays dirty. You losers.

@theonly1 - I don’t see anyone complaining about the hit on Holmes. It was a fair clean hit.
I am guessing that you and PaulieP are Ravens fans and thus true douchebags

If folks like Paulie P can’t appreciate Troy Polamalu’s play without whining about cheap shots (which, by the way, I’ve never actually heard anybody else accuse Polamalu of), then maybe the NFL isn’t for you. They air poker tournaments on ESPN nowadays, you know.

I haven’t heard one person complain yet. I was at the game last night and lots of people went “oooooooh” in regards to the hit, but it was a good clean hit. I hope Crocker doesn’t get fined for it, but who knows these days, Harrison (or Woodley, I can’t remember) got fined for tackling Campbell “in an intimidating manner” lol.
Also, the only people who think Ward takes cheap shots are sports writers looking to stir up controversy and the retarded people who buy into their bs, these are people who need to learn to think for themselves. It’s football, there are very few players who are looking to “take someone out”, but they are not going to just give you a love tap either. It’s a full contact sport and injuries are going to happen every week, this does not mean that they are cheap shots. People need to quit crying like babies or this will end up a flag football league in the future.

The hit on Santonio was AWESOME, and not dirty at all. And yes, I am a Steeler’s fan. Not sure where this complaining, or the Polamalu complaining is coming from, so I will just assume you guys are jealous. Also thought that the refs were actually pretty good last night.

I haven’t seen a complaint either. I find it amusing how the haters foam at the mouth.
It was a good hit. It was a football hit. Santonio got his rocks knocked around, stood up (albeit drunkenly) and walked off the field to play again another day. It happens all the time in football and really deserves no special reverence in relation to the game.

Steelers’ fans will just never get it. Never. They’re bias blinds them to any good point anyone poses. The blatant difference between the hit on Holmes and Ward’s hits were that the ball was going to Holmes, and the defender hit him with his SHOULDER!!! Notice how defenders don’t take the p*ssy way out and blindly lunge head first. Come on people, i understand rooting for your team, but don’t be so stupid. If/when a Raven ducks his head and lunges blindly at Ward’s head, im not gonna make a fool out of myself, like you all, by defending it…. i’m gonna say “It was cheap as sh*t, and i LOVED it!!!”

Answer me this, if it was a cheap, illegal shot, then why not flag or penalty? Why no fine? And don’t say that Goodell plays favorites with the Steelers, we all know that’s not true. Trust me, the hit was reviewed, at length I’m sure, and found to be a completely legal hit. Am I happy he broke Rivers jaw? No not at all, neither is Hines, but it happens, it’s football, people are going to get hurt no matter what you do, short of putting flags on their belts.
