With running back Reggie Bush recovering from a knee injury and running back Deuce McAllister facing a four-game suspension, running back Aaron Stecker has been placed on injured reserve, a league source tells us.
The Saints, we’re told, filled the spot by inking running back Darian Barnes. Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports that they also have signed running back Mike Bell.
The Saints added another running back via the practice squad, inking Lavarus Giles.
Stecker suffered an injury during Sunday’s win at Kansas City. After rushing for 448 yards in 2007, Stecker gained only 43 yards on eight carries this season.

The signing of Mike Bell is probley a good move. Remember how good
he looked in the start of 2007 as a rookie. It’s really crazy that the Broncos would go after T. Bell(character issues) instead of Mike Bell, whom they were so high on only last year.

ok I understand the running back situation…..Not enough guys to carry the pigskin can make Brees have to throw 7000 yards this tear..
But in all fairness.with Chicago as a last game coming outside, is good to have some ground churners for the grounds crew to get paid.
after all…can’t have it said the Saints are willing to work with Obama and NOT put people on unemployment!
Speaking of unemployment….whats Benson going to do with all those crapped on cars?? maybe he should go to jail and get some of the jumpsuit cleaning crew and let them “work it at the car wash”.
SEE BENSON…MAKE YOUR STATEMENT AND HELP OUR ECONOMY!
