An MRI conducted Monday on the knee of Giants running back Brandon Jacobs revealed no structural damage, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
“Nothing serious,” a source told Garafalo. “Just swollen and sore.”
Jacobs tweaked the knee during Sunday’s win over the Ravens.
The Giants face the Cardinals on Sunday.
It’s an opportunity for Arizona to prove that they’re not simply beating up on the bad-to-mediocre teams. And it’s another opportunity for the Giants to show that there’s a huge gap between them and the other supposedly “good” teams.

The Giants are the best team in the NFL right now. Period. At the time, I felt like last year’s Super Bowl run was a bit of a fluke - a pretty good team getting hot at the right time. I was wrong. This team can win it again, and seems to have a good chance of doing so.
And I hate them.

I have to agree that this is by far the best team in football. Better than they were last year because of Mannings maturity and that 3 headed run attack.
They dodged a big bullet though here.
And I hate them.

As a Giants fan, I am relieved that he is ok. The G Men are the best team in football. Period.

I would have to agree, best team in the NFL right now… but I wouldn’t say by far. I’d say the gap is closer than that. I really hope the Titans get a chance to play them this year.

I would love to see the Titans win 18 games, then get beaten by the Giants in the SB.

As a PATS fan I too agree, the giants are the best team and Justin Tuck is the best defensive lineman in football.

I hope the Giants come into our stadium expecting to walk out with an easy win…
…just as Buffalo did when they were 4-0
…just as Dallas did when they were 4-1
I’ll give the edge to the Giants - but if just one ball bounces our way the Cardinals will win.
The Cardinals haven’t given up 100 yards to any runner the past 12 games in a row…bet you didn’t know that.
Expect a strong fight out of the Cardinals…and your cb’s better be ready to deal with Q, Fitz and Breaston.
We’re gonna throw everything including the kitchen sink at cha’.
Go Cardinals!!!

Yeah, I wouldn’t rule out the Titans. I mean, they are undefeated and Kerry Collins has proven he can win in the air if the ground game isn’t working.
But I do think the Giants are poised to repeat this season. They are a damn good team in all aspects of the game.

@cantgetenough
I wouldn’t. As a fan nothing could be worse than winning everything but the big one. I mean what good is 18-1? That would really, really suck. I can’t imagine much in the world of sports sucking worse than that.

As a Giants fan, I can’t help but wonder if this has the makings of a “trap” game here. There was an awful lot of talking about the Baltimore D and the Giants clearly came out with a chip on their shoulder. No one is talking about the Cardinals because, well, they are the Cardinals. This Arizona team can light it up, though, and the Giants secondary is banged up. Add on to that a three game lead in the NFC East for NY and they might be getting too confident. I hope NY proves me wrong, but I am worried that the Giants are looking past Arizona to the three NFC East games in a row that follow the Arizona game.

Giants Fans,
Don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Let’s say there’s a seemingly unstoppable team out there; seems like they’re perfect in every way. Everyone starts riding the hype, everyone starts crowning them midseason. They make it thru the playoffs, only one game away from destiny… then BAM! Sound familiar? I’m talking about the 07 Pats but I could just as easily be talking about the 08 Giants.
Nothing is decided, no matter what everyone might think, til Feb. I remember last year thinking there was no way in hell no one beats the Pats and I was wrong. There could be a repeat all right… a repeat of exactly what happened last year.
Go Titans!

I couldn’t agree more with east96st. I think this is the trap game the Giants will probably lose. Let’s face it, they have to be feeling really good about themselves right now, just like they did going into the Cleveland game (remember our starters were pulverizing their starters 30-3 in the preseason until Tom C took the starters out IN THE 2ND Quarter!). We all know how that turned out. But it’s OK, because if they lose to the Cards now, it will be the wake-up call they need to make a play push down the line.
I love the Giants!
