Despite speculation that Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson could be suspended for his hit on Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck Sunday, it turns out that Wilson won’t even be fined.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the NFL has reviewed the tape and determined that Wilson’s hit on Hasselbeck was legal. No punishment will be administered, and Wilson will be on the field for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.

Wilson was previously fined $25,000 for a hit that injured Bills quarterback Trent Edwards, and he had been warned that another illegal hit on a quarterback could result in a suspension. And Hasselbeck said after the game that he expected Wilson to receive league discipline.

But Hasselbeck said Monday that he hopes Wilson won’t be fined. So he’ll be glad to learn that the league ruled the hit legal.
