The San Francisco 49ers have announced that tackle Jonas Jennings has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

It’s not much of a shock, given that Jennings has been out of commission since suffering a shoulder injury in Week Two.

His spot on the roster will be taken by tackle Jacob Bender, who was signed from the Patriots’ practice squad.

Jennings is signed through 2011; his salary next year moves from $3.45 million to $4.2 million.
