“We feel like we’re the ones throwing stones, fighting the world trying to prove ourselves,” Titans DT Albert Haynesworth said, clinging to the underdog role despite Tennessee’s 10-0 record.
WR Justin Gage had a career-high 147 yards and two touchdowns.
The Tennessee defense had a rough first half but held Jacksonville to 84 yards in the second half.
Third-string CB Chris Carr came up with a pick and three passes defensed after being pressed into duty.
Is Kerry Collins really an MVP candidate?
“This is about as dismal an outlook as you can have,” Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said. “We have six games left and we’d have to win every one to qualify for the playoffs. It’s a remote possibility.”
The Jaguars set a franchise record for most punts in a game (10).
Veterans CBs Brian Williams and Drayton Florence accepted blame for getting torched in the second half.
With Matt Jones inactive, the Jaguars receivers combined for a grand total of 67 yards.
“We still have a lot of young guys on this team and we don’t want any one of those guys checking out,” QB David Garrard said.

I’m just happy to see that some of the 2nd and 3rd string guys could get it done. Depth was a big concern for me most of the year until yesterday.
Go Titans!

Titans have really good depth. King came in and played well for Harper and then Carr came in and played well for him. Vickerson played really well for J.Jones and Ball played really well for KVB. Hopefully they’ll have everyone back for the Jets though.

After watching the game all I can say is I hope it’s Giants / Titans in the superbowl. Clearly the two best teams in the NFL.

Throwing stones? No, just head stomping.

MarkB,
Whats the guy gotta do to get past that? And who wouldn’t want him on their team right now the way he’s playing? Everybody gripes and bitches about him and his face-stomping incident. He will be playing for someone other than the Titans next year… what if he’s on your team? I bet you would embrace him then.
That said it was pretty screwed up, but I think he’s trying to move past it.

The Jags had every chance to put this game out of reach early, but didn’t and they got absolutely throttled in the 2nd half. Out coached, out hustled, out manned. Drayton Florence should have a Lemon Law named after him. $13M guaranteed and he makes Justin Gage look like Larry Fitzgerald. This team went from contender to pretender seemingly out of the gates. The offense is not right if they cannot run and the defense needs an enema.

I hope somebody from the Jags reads this. The Vikes have been getting beat by Tightend option plays. Sometimes the TE is the check down receiver but more often the TE is the route the play is designed for.
The Bears, Texans and Bucs all had great success with it. The Texans would have beat the Vikes if Schaub didn’t get hurt.
Peterson and Taylor are the serious threats. Rice is great and will get overlooked.
If you beat the Vikes, Minnesota can get a new coach out it. So go Jags!!
