Said Bengals K Shayne Graham of his missed field goal in overtime, “I thought I hit it good. It started out inside the upright. I guess I didn’t play the wind enough. It’s hard to explain. I just didn’t make the kick, but that’s what I am supposed to do. I feel bad for these guys because they really fought hard today and our defense did a great job.”
A roughing-the-passer call on Eagles CB Sheldon Brown put the Bengals in position for the potential game-winning kick.
Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had 12 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Eagles S Quentin Mikell felt bad about celebrating after his big hit injured Bengals WR Antonio Chatman in the second quarter.
An injury to Bengals T Levi Jones left the Bengals scrambling to stop Eagles DE Trent Cole, who finished with 10 tackles and two sacks.
Said Cole, “I don’t believe in ties. I’m used to playing football until the end, until someone scores. That should decide the game. Taking a tie is a bad feeling. It’s a tie, but in my opinion, it’s a loss.”
Bengals WR Chad Johnson jumped into Eagles warmups and caught a pass from QB Donovan McNabb.
The Eagles passed three times on third-and-one and failed to convert each opportunity.
Bengals S Chris Crocker replaced the injured Chinedum Ndukwe and recorded a sack and interception.
A poor punting day by Eagles P Sav Rocca gave the Bengals an advantage in the battle for field position.

“Bengals WR Chad Johnson jumped into Eagles warmups and caught a pass from QB Donovan McNabb.”
That is pretty funny, I hope there is a video for it somewhere.

As an Eagles fan who had the misfortune of attending yesterday’s fiasco, I can only quote that noted philospher, linguist, and former NBA quote machine, Michael Ray Richardson, when he said, “Di, di, dis ship be sinkin”.

I saw so many holding calls NOT called on the Bengals yesterday it was ridiculous. On the replay of Brown’s ‘lowering the helmet’ into the QB penalty, they right next to the QB was a Cincy OLman with his arm wrapped completely around the neck of Broderick Bunkley. Oh well, what you gonna do. Eagles didn’t deserve to win, and the Bengals did. Unfortunately the Bengals weren’t good enough to put it away like they should have, and it ended in a tie.

I can’t take credit for this because my buddy sent it to me, but I couldn’t agree more…
As much as I’m not a mcnabb supporter, I feel bad for him because he’s going to be the scapegoat for
the terrible decisions bestowed upon us and the team from Reid & Co. It’s Reid and Co. that hasn’t brought
this team a proven WR (Beside TO), any first round talent over the last two years, forced a system on a QB that isn’t
a west coast QB, still starts LJ, made a lineman a full back then put him back on the line, then put him back at fullback,
made a tony hunt learn fullback in two weeks, then start him, then cut him, made a soccer player from australia a punter,
still pay greg lewis, still pay considine, still insist reggie brown is a starting caliber player, have two tackles that are in the last
year of their contract with no viable backup besides winston justice and the countless other questionable front office and play calling decisions.

although i agree with some of those points (phillyinsd), here is my take to a friend who posed, “who should go first, reid or mcnabb?”:
reid is first, not even close. but fat donovan is not far behind.
they have great talent with westbrook and very good talent with buck. also desean is a playmaker. LJ, even though he sucks, is still talented and probably could be utilized better with a new system.
even hank could be utilized better. i’m sure other offensive coaches would salivate over his skill-set.
reggie brown, curtis, and the rest are all 5th receivers at best.
the window for those listed above is closing fast, and neither reid nor donovan are the ones to take them to the next step.

McNabb didn’t even know that games could end in a tie? His status as an “elite” QB seems to drop a little every season….

I didn’t have the highest expectations going into the season for the Birds, but I certainly never thought our season would be over this early in the year. Simply “tweaking” this roster won’t do the job. We need new a new philosophy, new players, new coaches, and new front office personell. This team has crashed harder that the stock market.

How about the blantant pass interference in the tackling of brian westbrook before the ball even go to him late in the game which killed a drive

@phillyinsd “made a soccer player from australia a punter”
Rocca played rugby. Australian rugby players are actually much tougher than NFL players. Try playing it for two seconds and see if your head is still attached to your shoulders.

And up until yesterday, he has done a FANTASTIC job.

The only other thing is, why can’t the O and the D both come to play on the same day? Seems one of the other shows up.

Fine, a rugby player. The point isn’t that the guy isn’t tough and I don’t need to try playing it to know that those guys are just as tough/tougher than NFL players (does a punter really need to be all that tough anyway?). The point is that Reid continues to try with unproven/inexperienced players and hope they work out well. Rocca actually has worked out well but why can’t they step up, pay for a proven playmaker and do what it takes to win?

I like that outlook DAWKFAN. I will bleed green until the day I die, but this season it feels like a curse to be a loyal fan!
