Updating his report/speculation that the Lions could be shopping quarterback Jon Kitna, Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com reports that the 49ers aren’t interested in a Kitna-Mike Martz reunion.
There also is speculation linking Kitna to the Cowboys, along with speculation of a package deal that would send Kitna and receiver Roy Williams to Dallas for tackle Flozell Adams and a first-round pick.
Stay tuned. The trading period ends in roughly 24 hours from this posting.

The trade makes no sense. I could see Adams for Williams, straight up, so considering Kitna isn’t worth more than a 5th round pick, where’s the first rounder coming in?

Wow, sounds like the Boys are desperate. Kitna, who is not going to make their team next year, should be a late late late round pick for a trade. Roy Williams should be a bit higher, but he is also leaving after this year.
I think Dallas locked up Flozell long term at the beginning of the offseason. That seems like way too much, with the first rounder, for those 2 players. I would bet Detroit is releasing this info, because I can’t imagine Dallas doing anything other than laughing at such a bad trade.

Wondering if the Patriots are finally interested enough in Garcia to give up a draft pick or two.
Yeah, he’s old. But he has a seriously hot wife, so he’d at least cover THAT part of being a Brady stand-in.

Doesn’t Brady prefer trannies?

Flozell AND a first-rounder? I wouldn’t give up a first-rounder for Williams straight up. And Kitna provides no real upgrade over Brad Johnson. This would be TERRIBLE trade.
How ’bout we just man up and show some character? We’ve been damn lucky with injuries the past few years. So now we get hit with them. Boo-hoo.
There’s enough talent on this team to compete through the next few weeks. The big questions is: is there enough character? Enough guts? We’ll see.

Okay… so a Pro Bowl RT and a first round pick for a terrible QB that won’t be able to play until he learns the playbook (at least 2 to 3 weeks and after that the Cowboys have a bye, after which Romo will be back) and a 2nd WR that is in his contract year and will be shopping himself around the NFL this offseason and will be easily had for a new contract?
If you’re gonna make up stuff, why not say that the Cowboys are shipping all of their top draft picks and pro bowlers to DET for Kitna, Williams, and any thugs they have around? That would be more sensationally stupid.

“a 2nd WR that is in his contract year and will be shopping himself around the NFL this offseason and will be easily had for a new contract?”
As of now he’ll be shopping himself around next offseason. If he were to be traded, that might not be the case. Reason being that his new team might offer him a contract extension before he makes it to free agency.

at this stage of his career, kitna has a much better arm than johnson, even if it is iffy about whether he makes better decisions…
he would get behind a better line immediately. do u really think romo would be a huge improvement over kitna in detroit were the tables turned?
if i was mayhew etc i would hang on to roy until next yearm tag him sign him then trade him.
roy is turning into a diva himself, so buyer beware.

Who’s speculating a garbage trade like that? Whoever dreamed up that swap is laughably ignorant.

Hey, Vox.
Well, since Brady’s never made a pass at you, I’d guess he doesn’t prefer trannies. Of course, you’re kinda fugly, even for a tranny.
Hmmm. Maybe you’re just jealous?

I could not imagine Us trading our starting LT.
Maybe Bradie James and 2nd and a 3rd for Williams?
and that is still generous regarding the situation in Detroit with Williams.
However, the new Lions Management may be reluctant to pull a trade with Roy Williams invovled,
especially with his Value being so Low
but time is ticking…
