The game-winning field goal by Falcons K Jason Elam erased memories of the miss that helped the Bears take the lead with 11 seconds to play.
Falcons WR Roddy White didn’t practice after Wednesday but caught nine balls for 112 yards and a touchdown anyway.
White’s big day helped Falcons QB Matt Ryan to the first 300-yard game of his career.
The big day in the passing game didn’t translate to red zone success; four trips resulted in 13 points and kept the game close.
When Bears WR Rashied Davis caught a touchdown to give Chicago a late lead, he “thought it was ‘game.’”
Bears S Mike Brown said “you can blame me” for the completion that set up Elam’s game-winner.
Bears coach Lovie Smith chalked up the loss to the fact that his team didn’t “start fast and finish strong.”
If the Bears suffered any more injuries in the secondary, WR Devin Hester would have returned to his old stomping grounds.
2007 first-round pick and Falcons DE Jamaal Anderson recorded his first NFL sack in his 22nd NFL game.
Falcons coach Mike Smith called the 22-20 victory “one of the most exciting games I have ever seen.”

I’m still sick to my stomach. The Bears didn’t deserve that game. Matt Ryan looks like the real deal though. He beat us plain and simple. Even though it was a loss, Kyle Orton impresses me more and more each week. It was a good thing for him to be on the bench for the past few years because now he knows the offense so well. I don’t want to jump the gun because I am talking about the Bears here, but we may have a legit QB for a few years. WOW, that’s just weird to say about the Bears.

Ryan played great, assisted by an imbecile at defensive coordinator for the Bears. No blitzing, vanilla defense and corner backs playing 8 yards off the line of scrimage made it easy pickings for young Ryan. He wont be so lucky when he faces blitz happy Jim Johnson next week. I expect him to crap down his leg like most rookies when faced with constant pressure.

I agree with NYbearsfan. But for Bears coaching today all the talk would be about Orton coming of age and the arrow pointing up for the Bears. BTW, Tommie Harris and Urlacher were invisible yesterday. Urlacher looks so pedestrian I thought he was AJ Hawk.

I remember when Bear fans were all hyped up by Rex Grossman. Now, it will be fun seeing the Bear’s front office being lulled into thinking they’re set at QB again… Orton is not the future, but hey, what else to you have to bank on? You have to believe in Orton, even if you have to will yourself to believe in Orton. He’s poised to be the next Rick Mirer…

I’d be pretty excited if I were a Falcon’s fan right now. Matt Ryan is sooo clutch.

Rager481VS: Except that Mirer never even played anywhere near as good as Orton is right now. Orton may not be a Pro Bowl guy, but if he’s got a decent team he can probably win games. Phil Simms only made the Pro Bowl twice, completed 55% of his passes, and threw a lot of picks, but still won Super Bowls. Orton might be able to be that guy.
Matt Ryan is impressive. Rookies shouldn’t play that well.

One thing that seems to always happen when the Bears play is that the opposing team can always get a first down when it’s 3rd & long. Their receivers are always wide f*****g open. I don’t know if it’s the Tampa 2 or what but this crap has got to go. The DC needs to give the Bears a chance to win.

Lovie Smith can leave town and go back to Jennie in Greenbo Alabama any time now.
Nice squib kick to give away another win Lovie. Instead of 6-0 you are now a solid 3-3.
Stupid is as stupid does.

This will read worse than it is intended, but PLEASE take a look at the clock during the last three plays.
The Bears TD took 7 seconds.
It only took 5 seconds to catch the ball (I realize the clock doesn’t start until the returning team touches it) and run nearly 50 yards on the kick-off (up the hash than across the field)?
The ~30 pass play to Jenkins took 5 seconds too?
My wife (an uninterested observer) and myself counted “two Mississippi” before the clock began on the pass to Jenkins.
Bears didn’t deserve to win, but this doesn’t pass the sniff test…
