It’s been an eventful first few minutes for Brett Favre.

On the third play of the Jets’ game against the Bengals, Favre dropped back to pass and was drilled by Cincinnati defensive end Antwan Odom. Favre fumbled and Bengals defensive back Chinedum Ndukwe picked it up and ran 15 yards for a touchdown.

On the ensuing possession, Favre looked good, completing a pass for a first down on a fourth-and-1 and marching the Jets down the field.

The Jets eventually faced third-and-goal from the 4-yard line, where he hit what appeared to be a touchdown pass — only to have it called back because the Jets had a lineman downfield. On the subsequent third-and-goal from the 9-yard line, Favre hit what appeared to be a touchdown pass again — only to have it called back because the Jets had committed offensive pass interference.

The Jets then faced third-and-goal from the 19-yard line, and Favre’s pass was incomplete — but the Bengals were called for illegal contact, giving the Jets first-and-10 from the 14-yard line.

Finally, Favre hit running back Thomas Jones for a touchdown pass, and this time there were no penalties.
