The NFL has fined Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason $5,000 apiece for a sideline scuffle during Sunday’s game.
However, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was not fined for his hit on Titans quarterback Kerry Collins late in the game. Suggs got a very questionable roughing the passer penalty that extended the fourth-quarter drive on which the Titans would later score the game-winning touchdown.
In addition to not being fined for the hit, Suggs was apparently not fined for saying afterward, “If anybody can go back and show me something I did illegal, then I would be happy to oblige and say I messed up. But when you are nowhere near his head - we hit arms, we hit arms — it just goes to show the referee has too much power in the game.”
Neither Finnegan nor Mason was flagged for a penalty in connection with the incident for which they were both fined, although Finnegan did get an unnecessary roughness penalty at another point in the game. He wasn’t fined for that penalty.

Mason was being a lil bitch on Sunday. I used to hold him in such high regard but it seems he has made the full transformation into being a douchebag (Raven).

titans_fan clearly doesn’t realize his foot is firmly in his mouth, as WAY more Titans players acted like a-holes on Sunday, even fighting with each other. Just be happy that the official was on the Titans payroll.

Volkof52 is competely clueless as there were just as many Ravens if not more acting like a-holes last week especially after play was over.

“Just be happy that the official was on the Titans payroll.”
That’ll be $20,000.

I’d like to know how Suggs wasn’t fined. He must have at least scared Collins haf to death with that vicious blow.

Of I’m not saying the Titans didn’t do their fair share but in all the time D-Mas was here he never acted that way… except maybe that playoff game where he got into it with Tommy Maddox. He was always a classy guy.

Suggs wasn’t fined because he didn’t hit Collins in the head, he hit his shoulder pads. Corrala & his crew were on the Titans payroll last week. That was obvious to even Stevie Wonder. Bad call by a bad crew. Finnegan & Mason got offsetting Personal Foul Penalties

To TheJimmy, are you on drugs or is that a little bit of sarcasm?
Either way, it was a terrible call and showed a complete lack of control for the game during that play…..

What about Haynesworth destroying Flacco earlier in the game? No fine for that I assume. NFL is a joke.

For one he did hit him in the helmet. You can see as you watch the video he catches the side of his helmet and Collins helmet snaps sideways. Was it enought for a call. Probably not and im a Titans fan. Now to say titans had refs on the payroll, even if it is sarcastic, is rediculious. Titans had 10 penalties for 78 yards while Ratbirds had 11 for 90 yards, not much different. And people seem to forget the 4th down penalty on Hope after he was punched in the face and only gave a push back and got a penalty giving the ravens a first down and their first points.

Take it from someone that was at the game, I had a clear view of the Titans bench and when they fell behind, I never saw such a group of women! They were fighting each other, Fisher was yelling at the refs and that yappie tird finnegan drew numerous penalties for being KING AHOLE! Mason is a class act. He was able to get in finnegans head! You could see ha was rattled.
Titans fans rejoice…the refs saved your collective aholes. If it wasnt for that call on Suggs, the titans would be 4-1.

Doesn’t matter. Final score: Titans 13 Ravens 10.
The Ravens had more than a fair share of chances to stop the Titans after that so-called bad call but didn’t. The Ravens offense even had 2 possessions after that flag and didn’t do shit. To say that call costs them the game is retarded… they cost themselves the game by sucking down the stretch.
And as for the in game fighting between players? Well winning fixes a lot. And that defense plays with a ton of passion so I would expect things like that from time to time.
None of that matters to me though because they are 5-0 right now, leading the AFC, and beat a very underrated Baltimore team. Now ya’ll Ravens fans quit crying and concentrate on Indy… go Ravens!

Yeah the refs missed that FG at the end of the 1st half, and the refs let the titans drive 80 yards at the end of the game. Boo Hoo.

Nobody here is crying, fans or Ravens players. We’re just pointing out facts. If you can’t take the fact that your team only won because of bad officiating/luck, that’s not our problem. We’re just calling it like it is. Sure, you can point to other plays that would have allowed the Ravens to win, but I can point to other plays that would have made the Titans lose. Once you was those out, a bad call won the game.
Mason has always been a loud mouth, even when he played Baltimore. But, he has never drawn flags until this game with Finnegan and that was only because Finnegan started to fight with him and had a hold of him. I don’t think any NFL player will just let somebody beat on them.

No clearly you are crying. Chris Hope got called for a bogus 15 yard penalty earlier in the game that helped the Ravens score. It’s just sour grapes on your part. There were nearly 6 minutes left in the game. Even without the penalty, the Titans would still have had the ball 3rd and 15. All you whinny Ravens fans act as if without the penalty call, the Ravens would have had the ball and simply taken a knee several times. Given the way the Titans moved down the field that last drive, it’s not a stretch to suggest that they could have picked up 15 yards on two plays. Woulda Shoulda Coulda…
