What’s troubling Maroney is the same thing that’s been troubling him since he was drafted: he’s not really good enough to be a starting NFL RB. Period.

“Dolphins coach Tony Sparano says he’s talked to his players about not doing any touchdown celebrations that could cost the team 15 yards.”
Chiefs coach Herm Edwards was about to give the same talk to his team, then he looked at his offense again and said, “Uh, never mind.”

Yep- Maroney not good enough to be a starting NFL RB: “Period.”
Look at his games near the end of the season last year. 300 yards and 4 touchdowns in his last 3 regular season games. 122 yards in both the divisional and championship games leading up to the Super Bowl, and 3 touchdowns in the playoffs.
Yep, he truly doesn’t belong.

If you can’t rely on your running back, he’s not a starter. The only reason Maroney did well when he was called upon last year is because the Patriots’ WRs were drawing something like quadruple coverage– teams barely respected the Patriots’ running game, so they pretty much got any yards that they asked for.
I can think of probably two, maybe three teams that would rather have Maroney than the RB they already have. He’s not a STARTING running back. As evidenced by the fact that, you know, he’s.. not starting. I don’t care if it’s due to injury or a lack of talent. If he ain’t a starter, he ain’t a starter.
“Period.”

Could someone please tell all sports and news commentators to stop saying “perfect storm” whenever two or more factors contribute to an outcome. I’ts an incredibly annoying cliche. I would like to throw all these commentators under the bus.

Not nearly as annoying as the Steppenwolf era “Houston, we have a problem,” … even if we do.

Hey paputu or whatever: maybe you weren’t on the team wnen they played the Steelers in ‘05 in Detroit? Steeler Nation controlled the dome(neutral site). Maybe you need a trip to the “BURGH” & listen to that crowd: it would be good for you( noone could hear you pass gas) but you would be in for a rude awakening @ Heinz Field!!
