Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will miss Sunday’s game at San Francisco with broken ribs.
Coach Andy Reid said at his press conference today that Westbrook, guard Shawn Andrews, wide receiver Reggie Brown and safety J.R. Reed will all be out Sunday.
“Brian wants to go,” Reid said. ”He’s in the mindset that he wants to play, but it’s a decision that I’ve got to make. He’s a tough nut and I know that. I’ve got to do what I think is best for him and the football team down the road. It made the decision a little easier for me than it is for him. Obviously, he wants to contribute and compete.”
Westbrook, who was already playing on an injured ankle, fractured two ribs in Sunday’s loss to the Redskins.
The Eagles have their bye after the trip to San Francisco, and Westbrook is expected to be ready to go for their next game, October 26 against the Falcons.

The Sta-Puft Marshmellow Man looks a hell of alot like a big-nosed ugly poser - wearing a white, black, and gold jersey with the number 7 on it.

“Eagirls” is such a funny word. You are an internet star. I wish people like Cedric the Entertainer would just give up and retire, this country can make way to a new generation of comedy in which the wannabe comedian uses the same joke every night.
Vox, do you feel awkward knowing that the only time you’ve ever stepped on a football field was when you were holding a tuba, and wearing a big ugly costume, while everyone in the crowd is laughing AT you and not with you?

Just when I thought my fantasy team couldn’t get any worse.
Now who do I start in his place… Willis McGahee or Le’Ron McClain…
If only there were fantasy ratings on this site…

I don’t see what one week off will do for the ribs. I would think if he plays anytime in the next six weeks, depedning on the severity of the fractures, he’ll have no chance of healing up this season.

Actually I wish I could play a musical instrument. Football is great, but music makes the world go ’round. No Fab5Philly, you can’t play my bone-a-phone.
gallaghedj311 that’s not bad… but this is better (and yeah, I’ve used it before but it’s a classic):
I hear that the Eagirls are gonna hire Linda Lovelace as their next head coach. She may blow a few but she won’t choke on the big ones.
You could also use “Jeff Garcia as their next QB” on that one.
