Once upon a time, Donald Trump wanted to own an NFL team.  But instead of waiting for an opportunity to buy a franchise, he opted to join forces with the USFL, as owner of the New Jersey Generals.

And then he “declared war” on the NFL.

While the Trump-driven antitrust lawsuit against the NFL (which resulted in a $1 verdict) has made it unlikely that the Donald will ever own an NFL franchise, he has joined forces with the Jets to make a commercial aimed at persuading folks to place bids on the 2,000-member Coaches Club.

We’re not getting paid a dime (or a lot of them) to help the Jets raise a few million or more in new revenue, the arrival of Trump on the NFL stage is noteworthy, especially if it’s not appreciated by member teams with owners who were paying the bills for the legal fees arising from a legal battle that Trump instigated.

Such as, you know, the team that will be sharing the new stadium with the Jets.

Anyway, here’s the commercial.  We figure that more than a few members of PFT Planet will be making their bids.
