Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will be back in the starting lineup this weekend against the Dolphins after missing Sunday’s game against the Colts because of a viral infection.
“Matt’s still a little weak, but he should be fine,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday. “He’s feeling a lot better today. I don’t see any reason he won’t be on the [practice] field Wednesday.”
Through 55 minutes of Sunday’s Colts-Texans game, Schaub looked like he was in danger of losing his starting job. Sage Rosenfels had played efficient football and appeared to be on the brink of leading the Texans to a win over the Colts. If he had closed the deal, it would have been tough for Kubiak to justify giving Schaub the job back.
Of course, as it turned out, Rosenfels had three turnovers in the closing minutes, the Colts pulled off a shocking come-from-behind victory, and now no one is surprised that Rosenfels is heading back to the bench.
In three starts this season, Schaub has completed 64.5 percent of his passes, with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Rosenfels is still the better QB. He’ll be starting again in a few weeks.

Someone tell Schaub the key to his success (and my fantasy teams success) is to hit Andre Johnson all day long. Take a page from Rosenfels’ book, please.

Look at what Schaub did in his last start against Jacksonville. That is not a QB that should be benched. He got off to a slow start but is coming around. If he can get a little help he will be just fine. Schuab is a no-brainer over Rosenfels.

Rosenfels is the better QB, and would have handly beat Indy but for 2 late mistakes. Schaub is 8-11 as a starter for Houston, and has more INTs than TDs

Schaub had a good game against Jacksonville. Give him a little time. The hurricane had to have unsettled their practice and preparation some. If he continues poor play, put in Rosenfels.

He’s living proof of the old saying that “the most popular player on an NFL team is the backup QB”.
There’s a reason that a 30 year old QB has never been a starter … HE’S NOT GOOD!

Rosenfels played fine. The play calling lost that game. With a inexperianced QB, there was no reason to be calling risky rollout passes when your up 17 points in the 4th quarter. Run run run punt. Make them earn it.
