Last week, we posted an item regarding a gratuitous slam made by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones against the Houston Texans.
“The Cowboys have never been about checkered tablecloths and boots and hats,” Jones said when talking about the team’s new stadium. “They’ve been about glitz and glitter. Leave the other stuff to the Houston Texans.”
Though Texans owner Bob McNair wasn’t troubled by the comment, Jones has apologized.
“I told him I wasn’t offended at all by it,” McNair told the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram. “He didn’t mean anything by it, and it didn’t bother me at all. I took it [as] a compliment, because after all, we are the Texans.”

I think after the last four minutes of the game against the Colts, the Texans deserve every insult they receive.

Florio - So where is the weekly Owens article? I figured after his unusual podium comments after the game yesterday you would have something already posted.

Maybe the Cowboys should move to L. A. Plenty of glitz and glitter there.

I have a new for Bob McNair. Instead of taking the typical “I am insulted” stance. From what I have seen, the people that go to Houston Texans games DO wear boots, and would not be offended at all to eat on a checkered tablecloth if the food was good. While not all people appreciate it, there is dignity to being a hard working blue collar.

alewatcher, Keep dreaming.
Stupid Comment by Jones. He should know better. BTW, isn’t he from Arkansas? Don’t you know why their mascot is always pictures running? It’s because of the Hillbillies chasing it with love in their eyes. Arkansas is the reason God made cross breeding naturally undoable. (BTW, You can add Louisiana, and Oklahoma to the ALA (Animal lovers of America) List).

“From what I have seen, the people that go to Houston Texans games DO wear boots…”
Earth to billf: I go to 8 Texans games a year (not a fan of the Texans myself) due to the generosity of a close friend with season tickets. I don’t take a census on what people wear but most of us here wear Nike and New Balance like the rest of the country. Stop believing all of those old westerns you’ve been watching. Born and raised here and I’ve never owned a pair. If any of my friends showed up in a pair, they’d get laughed out of town.
I don’t recall seeing boots although I’m sure some people wear them just as I’m sure you can find them at almost any other stadium in one form or another. Either you’ve never been to Reliant Stadium or you hang out at the private boxes where the people are there dressed to be seen and not to watch the game.

Jones: Sorry for the comment about boots and hats and all. I didn’t mean to be offensive.
McNair: Offensive? No one was offended by it.
Jones: Really?
McNair: Course not. We’re proud of our Texas heritage.
Jones: Bwahahahahha. So you don’t think cowboys hats are ridiculous. Where you from? Some dude ranch home on the range.
McNair: Yes, in fact I am.
Jones: Bwahahahahahhahaa. Anyway, sorry I almost offended you - if only you were smart enough to be offended, cowpoke.

P.S. Nice job by Jerry’s Kids needing the refs to bail them out for the squeaker win over the Bengals. What a CRAP holding call on the Cincy WR that took away the TD in the first half.
Wait til the Giants and ’skins get their hands on Dallas.

If I was the Texans owner, I’d waste my time wondering how they blew that lead against Indy. Indy should be 0-4 right now.

Yeah, first thing I think of when someone mentions Dallas is Glitz. No wait, that would be assasinations…and strip clubs..and criminals roaming the streets. Come to think of it, that sounds more like “Grand Theft Auto”. Yeah, San Andreas Cowboys!

Kevin From Philly
Although I do not discount the violence and thuggery in Dallas, I do no think a person from Killadelphia should point it out. You douchebags have no clue how to have respect for one another. And while I have shown you disrespect by calling you’s a douchebag, You Give respect and then you will get it. D-Bag!
