Several readers are griping about the fact that the “game” between the 0-4 Bengals and the 3-1 Cowboys has been designated as the primary viewing option for the second half of the CBS doubleheader. With the Ravens and Titans getting ready to get it on, it’s clearly the better game, and some think it should have been moved to 4:15 p.m. EDT.
But here’s the thing. The Cowboys are the NFL’s version of Notre Dame, and CBS gets to televise Dallas only once this year. (The Ravens-Cowboys game later this year would have been aired on CBS if it were a Sunday game; it’s instead a Saturday night game that will be shown on NFLN.)
So for CBS, which during the ’70s and ’80s was the home of so many compelling Cowboys games , there was no doubt that the network’s only return to Dallas in the final year of Texas Stadium would be treated as a big deal, regardless of the quality of the other games.

I don’t even get a double header today. The only 1 o’clock game I’m gonna see is eagles/skins (fox) and then at 4 I get the dallas/cincy stinker (cbs).
Thanks Comcast!

If both of these teams were 4-0 I still wouldn’t want to see the game. I don’t like T.O and I can’t stand Chad Johnson.
With any luck, this game will be a Cowboy’s blow out five minutes into the game, and then CBS will switch to a far more compelling and competitive game.

Wait wait wait. Okay, hold on. If were gonna talk about drama queens lets please discuss the situation with the Titans. As far as the quality of the games go, I would much rather watch and offensive blow out like the Cowboys / Philly game than watch the Ravens struggle to win again. They never seem to do anything very impressive either.
Here is one vote for Cowboys / Bengals.

No way that anyone sane thinks any Baltimore game is better to watch than another game. I’d rather watch glue dry than have to sit through a low scoring Baltimore game with plenty of suckitude on offense.

Talk about Florio hypocrisy, he spends all week writing BS articles about the Cowboys then complains when CBS picks the Cowboys game?
Just like Cowboys articles generate page views, Cowboys games generate viewers. That’s just the way it is.

You wouldn’t watch two 4-0 teams go up against each other because you don’t like a couple of the players?
You’re an idiot!

That hasn’t happened since “Taskmaster Parcells” was running the joint.

Any word on pacman’s pursuit of liberty? Are the cowboys gonna let him become a homeowner? Will they add him on as an authorized user on his bank account? Has he earned a little freedom to go anywhere without his handlers?

Actually, given the unexpected success both teams have had, Bills / Cards could have been the featured game, also scheduled for 4 pm
The NFL TV schedule is based on ratings, not competitive games

Direct Ticket anyone? If you do not like the idea of some exec choosing which game in your market is more compelling then get DirecTV. (I only wish I were getting something for pimping DirecTV).

Atleast I’m getting the Bucs-Broncos game and don’t have to watch that crap. You get them next week late on Fox too, against the Cardinals. Oh joy.
