In a year during which the Bears have cut the cord on a couple of first-day picks from 2005 (Cedric Benson, Mark Bradley) and one from 2007 (Dan Bazuin), the might finally get something in return for their 2008 first-rounder, the 14th overall pick taken in the draft.
Left tackle Chris Williams, who had surgery to repair a bad disc in his back about which the Bears apparently knew when drafting him, fully participated in practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Lions.
Also, receiver Brandon Lloyd is out with a knee injury, receiver Marty Booker is questionable with a knee, cornerback Charles Tillman is questionable due to a shoulder injury, and cornerback Nathan Vasher is questionable with a wrist injury.

I just hope they don’t rush him back too soon to save face. That would backfire.

I agree, I’m really excited if he’s ready to come back, but it’d be ridiculous to potentially squander his entire career so he can play in a game we’ll probably win either way. If it takes a whole year to heal then they should give him a year, it’d be better for both sides.
