And the commenters are also absolutely right: when a receiver is pulled down by his shoulder pad before the ball gets to him -- resulting in an interception return for a TD -- the receiver's team has absolutely no right to complain about the call. I mean, that team's owner is on the Competition Committee! How dare he criticize a blatant non-call? He is only allowed to complain about poor referreeing if his team has never committed a penalty -- period. And how dare he admit that injuries have sapped some of his team's strength. Doesn't he know that injuries play NO PART in a team's fortunes? Just look at the Patriots! They are exactly as good as they were last year. The very idea that Polian would admit that injuries have dropped the Colts below a division rival is ABSURD!!! He must be the biggest jerk in the history of professional sports! I think Polian is walking a fine line here. He has to remember that there are 32 people that own the NFL.
