Bengals receiver Chad Johnson/Ochocino/Ocho Cinco is having a quiet year, both on the field and off it. So, in an apparent effort to kick-start his performance between the lines, Johnson/Ochocinco/Ocho Cinco is contemplating the consumption of some alcohol, perhaps followed by driving a car and/or beating someone up.
“You remember our ‘05 season right? Our ‘05 season we were unbelievable,” Johnson/Ochocino/Ocho Cinco said Wednesday, via our friends at The Sporting Blog. “Our ‘05 season is the year everybody went to jail and got arrested. That year everybody got in trouble. So maybe the bad was a good thing. I t sounds dumb to say, but look at it. We have cleaned house and nobody is getting in trouble anymore, no DUIs, no arrests, now we’re getting our ass whopped. Maybe I don’t know, maybe I should go out have a drink, get in trouble. Our ‘05 was one of the best years here in history. It was one of those years where there was a lot of distractions.”
In addition to sounding like a complete idiot, Johnson’s facts are flat-out wrong. The crime spree didn’t begin until December 15, 2005, when receiver Chris Henry was arrested for possession of marijuana. The bulk of the arrests came in 2006.
But, Chad, if you still want to get in trouble, feel free. Just try not to hurt anyone other than, you know, yourself.

I guess when you don’t matter on the field anymore, you try to matter off of it…And by matter I mean act/speak like a true moron.

I wonder what fan profile on this guy would look like? Does he actually have anybody that takes him seriously? If the Commish had any balls whatsoever he would boot this clown out the NFL now…and does anybody really think this idiot has the guts to do anything stronger than run his mouth?
He’s not that good any more on the field and he knows it…

Chad is probably the biggest idiot in pro sports (which is VERY impressive).
The Great Ochocinco Breakdown of ‘08 is coming. Palmer hurt, 0-4, the media ignoring his stupid name change… Chad is about to lose it.

As always, Chad’s comments are brilliant.
The reason the Bengals stink is that they are not drinking enough alcohol.
That Cincinnati squad is just one brewery away from winning the Super Bowl.

chad, i know “reading” isn’t probably one of your strong suits but i believe some of their “best years in history” might include 2 super bowl appearances where they blew a half time lead and lost a fourth quarter lead. losing in the first round of the playoffs isn’t exactly “history” making, unless of course you are the cowturds and you make that kind of history for 12 + years now.

Chad OchoCinco is the best receiver to ever step on the field. He is my favorite player and is always a class act. I love him.

This just sounds like a last minute attempt to get traded before the trading deadline. Ocho Stinko always seems like he’s drunk.
BTW, I’d hardly say that an 11-5 season that ended with a big loss to the wildcard Steelers was ” unbelieveable”.

This is, without a doubt, one….if not the most stupid statements I have ever heard. I never thought I’d hear this out of an NFL players mouth, but looking at the source am not completely surprized.
I think it bodes to the man’s desire to be in the spotlight, no matter how stupid he makes himself look in the process. They ought to, if he follows through…suspend him w/o pay for a year. Knowing his love of money, and his unwillingness to part with it, an action like this….might get his attention.

In regards to the media paying attention to his “new” last name, I was listening to the Browns/Bengals game on the Browns Radio Network (I love having Sirius Radio!) and Jim Donovan and Doug Dieken referred to him as Chad Ochocinco the whole game. To date, this is the only instance where i’ve heard the new name used regularly.
Comments?

It doesn’t sound stupid at all Chad. Going to jail equals winning. Just ask Michael and Marcus Vick. One minute the mom is talking about a Star QB and NFL WR sons and the next she is talking about her convict son with the dead beat small time criminal son. So keep that mentality dumbass and Vick will have that WR.

playoff wins, playoff losses, nobody remembers those 15 years later… but Super Bowl wins. Oh yeah, everybody remembers those. I wonder if anybody remembers that the Eagles actually had the lead in a Super Bowl for about 8 minutes?
First round, second round, conference championship… it’s don’t mean a thing if you ain’t got that ring.

2006 is when they were getting caught, which means they probably had been doing it for quite awhile before then and getting away with it. You don’t really think they waited until 2006 to start doing that stuff do you?

Since when did anyone ever suggest anyone within the Bengals organization was intelligent? Ryan Fitzpatrick, excluded, of course.
By the way, these comments were made tongue-in-cheek. Did you bother to read the rest of the interview? Like his last post on Ocho Cinco, Florio is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Every Bengals home game this season, the PA announcer has called him “Chad Ocho Cinco” after each catch he’s made. So we’ve probably heard it, what? 3 times this season?
