Hey Giants, stop crying about your bye, at least you get 1. Goodell & Company screwed the Ravens with the Houston debacle. I still can’t believe Florio didn’t call the league on the carpet for the whole way they handled that mess in Houston. Even my 11 year old son knew on Thursday before the scheduled game there wouldn’t be a game played in Houston even after they pushed the date back to Monday night. I guess it’s only a story if the NY Giants are complaing about their bye week placement, huh Florio?

Because everyone knows that an offense based on gadget plays will take you deep into the playoffs. Next week, they’ll dig up Knute Rockne to run the Statue of Liberty play.

It was 4 and 17. Kick the figgie, go onside kick. It was the only option.
I like Tomlin, but his late game/crunch time management has been disappointing thus far. See 2 failed 2-point conversions in playoffs last year.

Rod Marinelli is a card-carrying moron if he actually thinks no changes need to be made.
If you want some comedy, go to the Lions website and listen to his press conference. The guy is so far over his head it’s laughable.

G-Man:
Its not Rod. Its the players. How come Martz could goto SF and beat the snot out of Detroit RUNNING the ball? Because the have Frank Gore. They have TALENT, and just needed a decent Offensive Coordinator. Even JTO is looking like an average QB because he’s got a running game backing him up. You need quality players to go with a quality coach.
I still don’t buy Kitna’s cop out that they’re not built to pass that much. They have 3 very good or great receivers in Johnson, Williams and Furrey, and a QB that isn’t great but can get it done and throw for a lot of yards in Kitna… but they can’t throw the ball? What?

I was referring to Marinelli’s insane comments during his press conference. The team is 0-3, has been blown out each game, and he’s insisting that they “stay the course.” That’s a problem.
I know the players are part of problem. The catch, though, is that Marinelli personally brought in “his” defensive players this offseason. Look at how many former Bucs he signed to play in the Lions’ Tampa 2 defense. The defense stinks–they’ve forced one turnover in 3 games. They’re near the bottom of the league in sacks. The defensive line gets almost zero pressure each game–and that’s a position Marinelli coached.
Also, the team has come out flat three straight games. They pick up a bit at the end of the first half, go into the locker room, talk to the coaches, and then come out flat at the beginning of the 2nd half.
That’s on the coaches–period.

That wasn’t booing from the patriot’s fans…it was the sound of the swirling vortex from their asses as they filed out at the begining of the 4th qtr.

Dallas keeps getting great TV ratings because they keep having primetime games. Of course primetime games get the best ratings… while the teams do draw fans, i think the fact its a primetime game has more to do with the ratings than the teams playing. clearly they have a huge fanbase, but if you put the bengals on monday night and gave the cowboys the sunday early game i bet the bengals game would draw bigger ratings….
oh and db3300 - the dolphins RAN the statue of liberty play several times last year and it actually worked, albeit without knute obviously.

The Patriot players don’t like being booed in their own stadium? Play better! Giving up 38 to the Dolphins and looking like you don’t care is enough to get any fan to boo.

The comparison is to other games played in the same time slots. Cowboys/Eagles was the most watched cable program ever. Cowboys/Giants 2006 is third, all-time. Cowboys/Packers was 4th highest ever for a sunday night football game.

@Norton - I am in full agreement with you. They didn’t get booed because the Patriots lost by 3 points. I honestly doubt fans would do that. They simply got crushed. I’m a Patriots fan, and I was highly disgusted with the way their defense performed. They should just thank god they don’t play in Philly. The Dolphins did pretty well with so-called gadget plays. Sure, they may have to get more creative now that the film is out there, but hey - it worked, a win is a win.

Uh oh - Miklasz is essentially saying the same things that Pam Oliver said at the Rams-Giants game. Looks like Joe Buck needs to pay Bernie Miklasz a visit (or get on a national radio program and put Miklasz on the spot while making a “larger point”).
