The Texans tried to convert six fourth downs on Sunday.
Titans owner Bud Adams thinks that QB Vince Young will bounce back, and that he could play for the team for 15 years.
Vince Young watched the game from the coaches’ box, to protect him from being booed to give him a better look at the action.
DE Jevon Kearse has a new sack celebration in which he pretends he’s a plane. (Which prompted Vince Young to ask from the coaches’ box, “Why’s there a plane down on the field?”)
WR Justin McCareins had four catches for 90 yards.
Houston rookie RB Steve Slaton had 116 yards rushing and a touchdown in his first start.
Texans WR Andre Johnson dropped two potential touchdown passes in the first half.
A halftime speech from LB DeMeco Ryans prompted the Texans to put the clamps on the Tennessee offense in the second half.
Ryans did his share with 13 total tackles in the game.
Texans QB Matt Schaub completed only 17 of 37 passes for 188 yards and three interceptions.

Schaub’s crummy stat line is a direct result of Andre Johnson’s huge drops. Matt should’ve gotten credit for another 70 yards and 2 TDs but Johnson couldn’t find the handle. Now there’s talk of benching Schaub in favor of Rosenfelds (who I like, but still). Crazy business…

I haven’t heard talk (other than internet talk, columnist surmisings and fan blab) about the Texans benching Schaub. Kubiak said all day yesterday that there will be no changes heading into next week (go to houstontexans.com and read the news/quotes).
As far as Andre’s drops, the one over the middle was a well defended ball and Nick Harper chopped Andre’s forearm just as the ball arrived. If Andre did anything wrong on that one, he didn’t go after the ball instead of waiting for it to float into his hands. At least that’s what he said he could have done better on that one.
On the one in the endzone corner, Andre’s second foot came out out of bounds so even if he would have caught it, it might not have counted.
My points are a) Schaub was terrible; and b) too much is being made of Andre’s drops - even though the one over the middle should have been six; and c) Steve Slaton is really good (I can’t wait ’til next year to draft some thunder to go with that lighting)
What about the 6 trips into the redzone with only one success? What about Schaub’s 0.00 passer rating? (ok, I’m stretching .. it was a Carr-like 20 something). What about the defense that was gashed in the first half - although somehow they played well in the second half without making adjustments (per Kubiak)?
It’s ‘Rosenfels’ btw

The titans have thrown the ball once in the past 2 4th quarters. that’s why the texans defense “played better” in the 2nd half. Titans were protecting a lead.
