Two games into the season, the Minnesota Vikings have made a change at quarterback.
Multiple media outlets are reporting that Gus Frerotte will replace Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
So far this season Jackson has completed 30 of 59 passes for 308 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Frerotte started three games for the Rams last season and completed 94 of 167 passes for 1,014 yards, with seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Frerotte did not play for the Vikes last year. Their back-ups were Bollinger and Holcomb.

This is going to do knothing for the team. It is still running the worst offensive scheme in the league. This West Crawl Offense is not fit for today’s NFL. Childress is running out of scapegoats.

Yep, signing Pennington would have been an AWFUL idea for the Vikes.
Maybe the Jets can deal Favre for 4 1sts?

Gus who?
Uusually when you trade up to get someone in the draft, you are pretty sure he is the one. He is the one alright, the preferred QB for the rest of the 31 teams. Do I have to hold my nose and pick the Queenies to win this week in the office pool? Usually, I just hold my nose when I watch them on TV.

A first time fantasy football player would have better options at QB than the Vikings, what a joke. This has to fall on Childress who stubbornly insisted Jackson could lead the team this year instead of making a big move at the position in the off-season.
What do these three goinks have in common:
Al Davis
Matt Millen
Brad Childress?

About time! You know how hard it is to watch the Defense do their jobs and the offense (beside Adrian of course)just does nothing to help them? Frerotte is not by any means the answer to the position but at least it puts a PASSER in the game to possibly keep defenses honest. Ok, Im somewhat hopeful for the game against Carolina now.

I don’t think Frerotte was a vikings QB last year, they had Kelly Holcomb, and Brooks Bollinger

Certainly can’t hurt, can it? Frerotte gives the Vikes a better chance to complete throws downfield. They can’t expect AP to run the ball 30 times a game. He’ll start to wear down as the season goes on and it only increases the chance of his getting injured at some point.

The vikes are improved any way you put it now. Frerotte is better than Jackson, so that obviously improves the offense.

I don’t think the QB is going to make a difference in this team. The playcalling will be even worse with Ferotte in there. Cedric Griffin and Tyrel Johnson are going to have a long day with Steve Smith. Everyone was so high on this rookie safety, from what I’ve seen he’s subpar at best. There are much more problems then QB on this squad. Everyone has bought into the medias BS, about this team just needing a QB. I have watched this team for many years, and can tell you we need more then a QB.

This is stupid… Jackson wasn’t an all star in the first 2 games, but it’s not 100% his fault. They run the ball every down and only pass when absolutely necessary, putting him in terrible situations, and when they do pass, the play calling is horrendous! Not to mention his receivers aren’t doing anything to help the kid out either(shianco sucks, berrian has done nothing, and something is bunk about Rice right now too)
Put the kid in a situation where he can succeed and see what happens, don’t screw him and then tell him it’s all his fault.
