Tight end Ben Troupe, a one-time second-round pick of the Titans who signed with the Bucs as a free agent earlier this year, has been cut by the team.

Troupe’s departure clears a spot for tight end Jerramy Stevens, who was suspended two games arising from a DUI arrest and conviction in 2007.

In four years with the Titans, who made Troupe their first pick in the 2004 draft, Troupe caught 106 passes for 1,056 yards and seven touchdowns.  He had no receptions in two games with the Bucs.

Troupe, a vested veteran, will immediately become a free agent.  He’s also eligible to take the balance of his $605,000 base salary as termination pay.
