As sad as it was to see a great football game ended due to a bad call (and yes, it was a bad call- and I’m a diehard Broncos fan!), the bottom line is that the Chargers didn’t exactly make waves in the first half. Yes, they lost thanks to the gaff by Hochuli, but that vaunted Chargers offense was pretty quiet for a lot of the game.
And no, the AFC West isn’t wrapped up by a long shot- probably won’t be until the last game of the year, where these two teams meet again. But… with the next two weeks featuring a battered Saints defense, and the absolutely horrible Chiefs… there’s a very good chance that Cutler And Co. can keep up the 40-point-a-game average and be 4-0 very soon. And that would start to make things very interesting…

Is it just me or is Champ Bailey not the same anymore. There was a time where I thought he was every bit as good as Deion was coverage wise except that he could tackle and was always the fastest guy on the field. I do not see that now. I could be wrong. And when you have a Bailey on one side and Bly on the other, why is their pass defense soooo bad?????

To Mike:
are you new to football? A pass defense is as good as its pass rush.
If you didnt notice Cromartie who claims he is gonna have 15
picks got torched by Marshall. Bailey is as good as he has ever
been. But he got torched once, and said after the game that
was his fault. But if you noticed neither team had any pass
rush.

Between the “Technical Difficulty” and the horrible call of the referee…This was a game that was bought and paid for by Vegas….Check to see if this referee gets a new house sometime in the next year……

You can get personal all you want, but facts are facts. No matter who was held to whatever yards, no matter who scored the most in the first half, who had the better pass rush or who ever was talking trash……If San Diego had either the “technical Difficulty” back or the bad call back they would have won the game.
Football fan for over 20 years……

To Danny:
Agreed the pass rush was non-existant and thats where it starts, however…to state that Bailey is as good as ever would be a difficult opinion to side with you on. He remains one of the premier open field, one on one shut down corners but at times I think he tries to do too much and in turn finds himself out of position on certain crucial plays throughout the course of a game.

To Danny:
Agreed the pass rush wasn’t there for either side however..to say that Bailey is as good as ever would be a tough comment for me to agree with you on. Though he still is one of the premier open field-one on one corners it seems that more often now than ever he is out of position. The problem may be that he tries to do too much but from what I can recall he used to rarely get beat now it is not uncommon for him to give up certain receptions that a this premier corner shouldnt be giving up.

No Danny I am not new to football, but I appreciate the snide remark, my life is now fulfilled when I have one of the many degenerate posters on here dissing my opinion. I understand a pass defense is as good as your pass rush. Touche dude, not sure why that did not come to my mind earlier, really kind of basic knowledge. But on a broader point, their ENTIRE D needs to step up. Yes the Chargers are explosive, but I am sick and tired of trying diff d-coordinators every yr, and shuffling, and the reshuffling of the d-line. And the kick coverage unit? Deplorable every yr. Can we get these things fixed already damn

Bad calls are like touchdowns… they’re part of the game.
