A man pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to charges that he sold 300 OxyContin pills to New England Patriots offensive lineman Nick Kaczur.
Daniel Ekasala entered the guilty plea to charges that were based on three transactions between himself and Kaczur, the Boston Globe reports.
Kaczur was caught bringing 202 pills across the border from Canada when a state trooper pulled him over in upstate New York. But after making a deal with prosecutors and serving as a cooperating witness against Ekasala, Kaczur is walking away with nothing more than a speeding ticket.
Ekasala will be sentenced in December, and he’s going to get a lot more than a speeding ticket; he faces 57 months in prison.

This type of stuff happens all the time. I have no problem with him getting the charges knocked down to a speeding ticket.
However, he should have been suspended by the league for 4 games and put in the Substance Abuse Program.

There is a chain of dealers and distributors at work.
I have no problem with it at all.

Hey where’s the outrage Florio? No suspension by the league or the team? Seems you always have something negative to say when it’s any other team. Let’s hear how the Pats coddle turds and are making the league look bad in more ways than just cheating and destroying the integrity of the game.
“serving as a cooperating witness” = SNITCH

Use the little fish to bring down the bigger fish. This is standard operating procedure. What’s the problem?
I do agree with colesslaw that he should have at least been put in the Substance Abuse Program.

this doesn’t seem right. kaczur made a decision to buy illegal drugs; we’re not talking about an impressionable teenaged kid here, we’re talking about a full-grown man. if it wasn’t from this guy, he would’ve been buying from someone else. so why does he get off scott-free? its backwards the way our society make the dealer the sole villain and the buyers of drugs almost innocent and victimized by predatory drug pushers.
the old saying, it takes 2…

As a Pats fan I’m in favor of a suspension, and substance abuse program for Kaczur. Maybe when he’s off OC’s he’ll remember how to block.
I also like how far Pats haters are reaching to call this “cheating.” Given the side effects of oxycontin (euphoria, dizziness, lightheadedness), and how they’re the exact opposite of a drug that would actually enhance his athletic performance, I’d say that’s a pretty crappy way to “cheat.”

Once again, the rat gets the cheese.
Kaczur should be in a cell and have some fop calling him sweet pea.
Why the eff is he playing football suspension-free ?
Does the Commish have a woody for the Cheatriots ? And why didnt the Commish fine the Cheatriots their high #1 draft pick for Videogate instead of the pick at the end of the 1st round ? Come on Roger. You have to be consistent.

This just demonstrates that the hypocrisy of the Cheatriots fans knows no limits. The bitch and squeal like little girls about the Jets head coach for his limited role in the illegal filming of his own coaches and all the classy NE fans scream, RAT RAT
Now one of their starters wears a wire to get a sentence reduction and the NE fans remain silent. At least they don’t have to wonder what sort of karma will come down on them next. They are already missing Brady, do you think there is a chance Randy Moss could get a tight hammy? Not enough bad things could happen to Bellicheat and the rest of that morally bankrupt franchise.

I’ve never seen a post with more idiotic comments. I dont even know where to start.
A. Kazcur wasnt dealing or distributing.
B. Even grown men can have drug addictions.
C. You shouldn’t fine a team a draft pick that they got in a trade they’ve made.
D. Mangini is a Snitch but wasnt punished and he benefited most from the practice of taping signals the most.
Its the Patriot hate machine at its finest.
