On Friday, former Lions running back Tatum Bell will talk about his now-infamous theft (allegedly) of running back Rudi Johnson’s luggage when Johnson visited the Lions’ facility on Monday.
Bell is scheduled to appear on The Dan Patrick Show, which streams live right here. (Past episodes are available on demand at the low, low cost of not-a-freakin’-dime.)
As we hear it, Dan’s producers are trying to get Rudi on the show as well, which conjures memories of that Kerrigan-Harding sit-down from more years ago than I care to remember on FOX.
Meanwhile, we’re hearing that Jay Glazer of FOX and FSN has obtained the Lions’ surveillance video, and that Glazer will show it during this weekend’s edition of Pro Football Preview.
Here’s a still image of the video.
By the way, we’re kidding about Glazer having the video. We’re not saying he won’t get it, but as far as we know he doesn’t have it. Yet.
As to the photo, we didn’t make it. A reader sent it to us. We like the fact that Tatum is fumbling one of the bags.

It’s gonna be hard for him to find a job, most teams are avoiding players with excess baggage.

Great picture at least.
As for his excuse, why would his former teammate have happened to leave his bags outside of Millen’s office? If this happened in the lockerroom or some commons area, maybe I’d buy it. But you don’t leave your bags outside of someone like that’s office unless you are in the office.
Wasn’t it just a few years ago that Tatum Bell and Mike Bell were a feared duo? Now one is out of shape and the other is a thief. My how the powerful have fallen.

Jay Glazer will never get the video. Kraft will arrange to buy it and give it to Goodell who will destroy it and all the owners will get together and say its over with, lets move on.
Meanwhile Matt Walsh never has to work another day in his life.

This is a bunch of BS. Tatum Bell dosen’t have to steal probably some FAKE Gucci Bags. Tatum is a good man that works very hard. Tatum is a father of 2 beautiful children and a husband to a wonderful women. That day he had bigger things on his mind!
Rudi has alot of nerve coming into a organization and starting mess. Rudi is probably trying to secure his position knowing he was only signed for 1 yr with his old ***. The NFL should be ashamed that he is the top story. We have release men that have WAY worst things circulating then a miscommunication between players. Come on!!!!

I am from the Dallas area and Tatum Bell is a law abiding citizen and this is not in his character to steal. These accusations are false and the truth will come out. Tatum is active in the community and respected by many. He mentors young teens, volunteers his time and donates to charity. Misery loves company and Tatum will rise above these egregious attacks.

Hmmm, seems there are some members of the Bell family here. It is hard to justify not doing something that is caught on video.
Maybe Bell he has an evil twin.

Being from Dallas, TX, I happen to know Tatum doesn’t need to steal anything. He is from a good family where he never wanted for anything. Tatum is willing to give anyone anything he has. I feel that this is another attempt to bring a positive role model in the ommunity down. Why would a professional football player, who has been playing for years, need to take “fake” Gucci? Maybe you need to focus your attention to the guy who owns the fake Gucci. It seems he likes to pass things that are fake and make them appear real. Maybe that is what he is doing with this scandal.

Sorry “tv” I’m not a member of the Bell family, and you are clearly not a member of hooked-on-phonics, becasue the article clearly states
that:
” By the way, we’re kidding about Glazer having the video”
And if this was something that was caught on video it wouldn’t be a scandel it would be hard facts. Think alittle deeper my friend. There’s alot more to learn out there.

Please disregard all of this nonsense about Tatum. This is just another attempt to bring a successful black man down. Tatum your friends and family are praying for you and your name will be cleared in the name of the holy father Jesus. And for you ignorant bloggers out hear that are taking this story way out of hand: SHUT THE HELL UP!
