Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown sounded off on Wednesday regarding the perceived negotiating tactics of agent Drew Rosenhaus, who represents cornerback Lito Sheppard.

Brown wasn’t happy with comments Rosenhaus made in a recent Sprint Exclusive Entertainment video, during which Rosenhaus pleaded his case for Sheppard to be in the starting lineup.  Sheppard currently is No. 2 at right cornerback behind Brown.

“If you know [Rosenhaus’] track record, it’s more of a disappointment to me that he enticed the guy into signing with him,” Brown said.  “Thinking that he could get the deal done.  Agents don’t get the deals done.  The player gets the deal done. That’s what’s disappointing.

“I wouldn’t say it bothered me, because I’m bigger than that, I’m a professional. . . .  Drew hasn’t been with Sheldon Brown for seven years; I think he’s been with Lito for two months.  He hasn’t followed by career.  He hasn’t broke down any film; he probably couldn’t tell you what number [Brown wears]/  It’s really irrelevant. . . .  [From watching the video] you would think the guy has been scouting tape and know[ing] the statistics and following us our whole career.

“A lot of times, people should just worry about their [own] jobs.”

Sheppard, spotted in the vicinity while Brown was making his remarks, professed ignorance.  “That’s between him and Drew,” Sheppard said.  ”I didn’t say it.  [Bleep.]  What did [Rosenhaus say]?”

Sheppard then went on to ramble aimlessly about discuss the situation, offering up contradictory and confusing explanations.  At one point, he blamed the T.O. drama of 2005 on the media.

This one isn’t nearly as ugly as the Owens saga from three years ago, but there’s a chance that it could explode.  Especially if (as we hear it) the Eagles don’t intend to trade Sheppard, or to give him a raise.
