Packers defensive tackle Colin Coles Cole is learning that being a professional football player isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
For starters, it doesn’t provide a license to drive 88 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone.
Cole recently was pulled over by Deputy Aaron Rauls, who explained in his report that Cole thought he had immunity in that regard.
“He also wanted me to have a card of some sort that ID’d him with the NFL,” Rauls wrote. “I said I only needed his [driver’s license].”
Cole then told Deputy Rauls that he ”gets stopped all the time in Green Bay and doesn’t get a ticket, because he plays for the Green Bay Packers.”
Rauls explained in response that he doesn’t give out warning for 88 in a 65.
We’re still wondering what kind of card Cole was referring to, and whether it was made by Topps, Fleer, or Upper Deck.

Must have been his “NFL Card”….I’ve heard that the players get these cards….kinda like a Sam’s membership card or something…I assume it is flashier though….but I suppose it also gives idiots like him the opportunity to pull the “Dont you know who I am” card….no pun intended….or maybe it was intended…

Way to be vague in the headline. What a hack. I wish it was Laveranues Coles, though.

I’m sure the Green Bay police appreciate being publically outed for letting Packer players get away with speeding (and I’m sure a lot of other stuff too. When was the last time a Packer player got a DUI?).

This trooper must have the best poker face of all time. I would have been laughing in Coles’ face if he’d said that to me.

I am sure he was referring to his NFL Players Card. It does get you some benefits but speeding is not one.

Players have an NFL ID card like a college or work ID. Some of the lower profile players like to flash this card at clubs in NYC to help them get past the doorman. Apparently they use it during traffic stops too.

LOL thats pretty bad. Its stories like this that make you wonder how many guys get off scott-free because of who they are. Especially when they get stopped by officers who are probably fans of their, and especially in a town like Green Bay. Though Barnett got taken in for a minor barroom dispute, so who knows.
I’d bet that every time we hear of an athlete getting a DUI, two or three athletes got stopped when they were impaired and got a free ride home w/ no exposure or consequences because of who they are.

How are you going to title that Coles? Who’s heard of Colin Cole (or Coles)? When I read that, I immediately thought of Laveranues.

Well, at least he probably will have good legal representation, seeing how he’s the spokesman for a Milwaukee-area attorney’s office:

Typical arrogant Packer. They let that “hallowed ground” crap go to their heads in Title Town, and think they can get away with just about anything.
The dirty truth is that Packer players get by with a lot in Green Bay. That is because the so-called Green Bay faithful have their priorities so out of whack. Those stupid cheeseheads consider football a religion in northern Wisconsin. You have to actually visit the place to get a real sense about how whacked they really are. So it’s no surprise when you see a player trying to get away with getting out of a well earned speeding ticket.
Kudos to Deputy Rauls. Too bad the dimwitts in Green Bay will most likely egg his house and label him a traitor for writing this d-bag up.

Great, another one who played the “Don’t you know who I am,” card. That must be the card he was referring to. Either that, or he’s like Homer Simpson who carries a Monopoly Get Out Of Jail Free card in his wallet. You mean the little orange card doesn’t work?

I think purplechoke needs to get back on his meds. Interesting name, purplechoke, was it named your esteemed NFL franchise that is 0-4 in Superbowls or after your vaulted right hand choking a chicken? But I digress.
Who among us hasn’t tried to talk their way out of a traffic ticket? But to amplify his feeble attempt into an indictment against an entire region of the country is laughable.
I can only wonder what Randy Moss’s excuse was for proceeding down a one way street in the wrong direction and then attempting to run over the meter maid who stopped him? Geez, the weed was particularly strong and after taking off so many plays in the last game, I didn’t know my own strength.
Biqueens fans just need to calm down, it was just a speeding ticket and I am sure he will pay the fine. It wasn’t a felony like say, flying hookers in over state lines for example.
