Holy crap.
On Monday, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen pulled the trigger too early on a report that quarterback Joey Harrington had agreed to terms with the Ravens.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s John Clayton might have done the same thing via his report that quarterback Todd Bouman had agreed to terms with the Ravens.
Per the Baltimore Sun, the Bouman report is premature, too.
But the Ravens are still expected to sign either Harrington or Bouman.
So, in the end, one of ESPN’s front-line information men will be right, and the other one will be wrong.
Somewhere, Sean Salisbury is laughing his ass off. (And possibly taking pictures of his junk with his cell phone.)

ESPN is a joke. When is someone going to start a real sports network?

Are we 100% sure that those salisbury pics weren’t ones he had taken of John Clayton just as he emerged from the shower? I would imagine that they would both look very much similar. Poor Sean, why would he want pic of either?

It’s like these guys are covering Watergate.
Let something actually happen before “reporting” on it, please.

What makes this all even funier is that Pat Kirwin was reporting on Sirius Radio yesterday that the Ravens signed Simms. He even had Harbaugh on and asked him about it and Harbaugh would not confirm it. Somehow that was missed in all the ball busting about the two ESPN guys blowing their reports. I guess they worked out all three and each of these guys figured they had a 33 percent chance of being right. Nice work fellas!!

If Sean is taking pictures of his junk, I hope he has a zoom lens on the cell phone camera.

I think Adam Schefter and Jay Glazer are pushing the old guys and they just can’t keep up, hence the premature reports. Maybe the old farts should stick to ‘feature’ stories like the ones the sideline girls do.

It is clear that ESPN are still reeling from the Jay Glazer beating ESPN to the report of Favre to the Jets. They probably got dressed down by some exec. now, it is an itchy trigger on the reports.

ESPN is slowly but surely devolving or dissolving into a Joke, big time.
Mort and JohnClay used to be up there, now the whole espn sphere is laughable and should be laughed at.

Sean Salisbury is now reporting that the Ravens have signed Sean Salisbury. Sean Salisbury has just gotten a very small Ravens tatoo in his nether region. Pictures at 11…..

Joey, Bouman, and Chris Simms. The Ravens
don’t know what they want. 4-12 record at best!

Well, it’s understandable that people would be jumping the gun on this. The Joey Harrington/Todd Bouman saga is one of the fascinating storylines in the NFL right now. Whichever journalist breaks it first will have instant street cred.
